Help me get through to my mother please

I fly up so taking my own food is a problem plus that would likely result in her being very offended. Something I'm trying to avoid. I will certainly suggest going out for a meal. Just need to think of somewhere suitable. Not having my car is a bit restrictive but sod it I'll pay for a cab if...

Help me get through to my mother please

I'm finally getting myself back under control after having let everything go to pot for a while and with lchf back in place my readings are looking a lot better. I live alone several hundred miles away from the rest of my family and with some willpower when shopping I've stopped buying things I...

    Tiny dark chocolate bars

I'm not great with portion control with anything and I'm the type of person once something is open it calls to me to finish it. I want to be able to have a small amount of dark chocolate some evenings but the small amount kept turning into a not so small amount. I did a bit of a google and...

    Sandwich replacement?

I've rediscovered crackerbread and soft cheese. Not too dissimilar to a sandwich and only 3.5g of carbs each

    Type 2 Hypo's Or Anxiety

I have social anxiety and suffer hypos. Sometimes the only way to tell the difference is to test my blood sugar. If it's low it's a hypo and I can fix it. If my sugars are okay I know to try my anxiety coping methods.

    Anyone Less than 40?

I'm 36 and was diagnosed 4 years ago. There is lots of type 2 in my family so it shouldn't have been a surprise but I always thought it was something I'd have to deal with in my 50s/60s not in my 30s. Looks like there are at least a few of us from the number of replies.

    Type 1 Insulin on plane

I fly a lot for work and depending on the airport you can be asked to do a multitude of different things with your insulin. I always have a letter from the gp with me and just go with the flow of what they ask you to do.

    Sandwich replacement?

I'm trying to get properly sorted with LCHF. Breakfast is okay as is dinner but I'm struggling with lunches at work. I work in an office and it's one of those places where most days you grab something easy at your desk. Ever since I started working I've had a sandwich or a wrap and I can't...

    2nd Abscess in 3 years

For the 2nd time in 3 years I was in hospital to have a perianal abscess drained under general anaesthetic this weekend. Got another extended period stuck lying on my front while it heals up. The surgeon wants me to go in for an mri scan to see if there's a reason it recurred. I just wondered if...

    Struggling with the heat

Think so, about a couple of litres a day. I've cut out the caffeine as well

    Struggling with the heat

Over the last week or so I've really been struggling with the heat and humidity. I'm bloated and sweating all the time and I feel exhausted. The only time I feel something like okay is lying on my bed with a fan aimed at me. The only other time it was this bad was a couple of years ago when I...

    Additional Motivation

I've been overweight my entire adult life and to be honest most of my childhood. I went on my first diet aged 10 but never really got anywhere, just ended up all the heavier in the end. I was diagnosed as T2 in June and the weight is finally coming off. I'm down nearly 5st from my heaviest...

Diagnosed in June - still trying to get my head straight

I was diagnosed as Type 2 in June. I'm 32. It both was and wasn't a shock. I was over 20st, 3 out of 4 grandparents had it along with my dad, so I figured I'd get it eventually but I thought I had hopefully another 20 years or so before I had to deal with it. I had a pain in the back of my leg...
