    Carb binging!

OMG I'm the same. I can go the whole week with a really healthy lowish carb diet but when I get to the weekend - mainly a Saturday and especially if we're round at our friends, I just eat loads of crisps or chocolate. I can't stop myself and I know I'm doing it too. I try so hard to not binge...

    Pump Noob! HELP ME!!!

Hi Emma, Do you have your basals right? You may need to adjust them slightly to give you more background insulin during the morning. There is something called the Dawn Phenomena where your sugars are elevated in the early hours of the morning due to hormone responses. It looks like your basal...

    Supplies

Same, I'm with medtronic and you order with them say every six months. I just ring them up and tell them what I need and they usually send it out within a week. Like Riri said you still get your insulin and strips etc from your GP Good luck, it's a god send

    Driver's Medical Appraisal

well as always my fingers and toes are crossed that you get somewhere soon with it all. I just don't understand how they can be dragging it out so long. They seem to be so unorganised. They should have been in touch with all the necessary forms etc.

    Finally Cracked

I'm back at the Gp on Friday to see how i'm doing on the tablets. So far so good hopefully. Certainly still feeling more positive and not wanting to kill everything haha

    Purchasing a CGM

The medtronic pump has that option with the current enlite sensor I believe but do you mean it will do it without the sensor attached? I've had the sensor from the hospital for 4 days now, I love it. I've never had such excellent control. One day they'll have all this in one ey!

    Finally Cracked

Thank you for your kind words and support. It's really helpful and reassuring knowing that your not the only one going through the curse of depression. I've been doing a lot of thinking since I've been to the doctors and I'm definitely taking things one day at a time and one problem at a time...

    Purchasing a CGM

They're definitely not cheap but I do think they're worth it. My pump is a paradigm veo so my sensor is an enlite. I've place my order now so hopefully I should have it in a week or two. Can't wait now. Are you going ahead with buying one then Alan?

Who has a CGM full time?

I'm actually just looking into buying one now as I've used the sensor a few times through the hospital when we've been hiking. I love them. Makes life so much easier. Give your supplier a ring and see how much they are as an initial enquiry, that's what i've done. I tried to get some help...

What hypo treatments have you got in at the mo?

Gorgeous aren't they. If we every go to the cinema I'm always running to ASDA to get some and some fizzy haribo. I've definitely got a sweet tooth when I'm allowed

    Purchasing a CGM

Ooh I'm so excited. Unfortunately not eligable for any help towards the cost as I still have hypo awareness and am relatively stable controlled but I rang Medtronic to find out how much they were and they've quoted a starter pack for £685 and then refil cartridges ar £267 for a pack of 5. So...

What hypo treatments have you got in at the mo?

Chocolate raisens are good too but only for mildish hypos (another one I munch on when walking long distances)

What hypo treatments have you got in at the mo?

Lately I've been on the lucozade tablets, lucozade drink if I'm very low or 9/10 I can sort myself out with a banana. I suck on Fruitella sweets whilst I'm doing any long walks etc, seems to help stay stable - unless I go through the pack too quickly (oops)

    Driver's Medical Appraisal

I can't believe you've still not heard anything! I think a definite complaint to MP/DVLA is in order because it's absolutely shocking to leave you waiting for so long. Have you called them did they say anything new?

Thanks Catherine that's really helpful, I'll see if I can get some help towards it. :D

    Purchasing a CGM

Hi, I'm lucky to be able to ring the hospital and request to wear the sensor for a week when I go camping/hiking but was just wondering can you buy them yourself and if so where do you buy them from? I've been all over the internet but without success. My last resort after this is to contact...

    Had enough!!

Re: Had enough!! Yes stick with it, it does get easier. The first week or two that I had my pump I was up and down like a yo-yo but then I found the right basals and got used to set changes and how to recognise if there was a problem etc. I often inject when I'm very high as the insulin gets...

3:43 AM and I am afraid

Hi Mart, So sorry to hear of everything your going through at the moment, fingers crossed that everything is ok and as you say it is just a blip, perhaps the new found warm weather is playing havoc with your body, I know it doesn't always agree with my body. Definitely see if you can go to the...
