Any experience of MyDesmond online alternative to face-to-face session?

I'm newly diagnosed T2. I've just been offered MyDesmond online as an alternative to face-to-face session that are not being run due to COVID. Has anyone got any experience of using MyDesmond? How are you getting on with it or how did you find it? Useful? Opinions?

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

Morning all Newbie here. I started testing on Wednesday. Went out last night (as every Sunday) for first time - didn't drink New Year. 1 pint of beer (Timothy Taylor Landlord), 2 brandy (Calvdos) and 1 pint of Coke Zero. Before I went out, 2 hours after tea, where I was 7.2. This morning 5.5...

    Tuna in Brine Vs Oil

My wife would do her nut. She hates fish, or at least hates most fish. She has realised salmon and tuna are fine. I used to hate fish with a passion, until I went sailing and had line caught fresh fish. I mean we'd drag it onto the boat, kill it (humanely, I might add) and cook and eat it there...

    Tuna in Brine Vs Oil

I didn't mean to loose the focus of my original question. These are certainly good choices and exactly the choice I'm determined to make. However, to steal the phrase, the nutritional thingy, is a nightmare. There appeared to be a contradiction or I'd missed something in the blog I'd read. On...

    Tuna in Brine Vs Oil

Unfortunately because I'm trying to watch everything I eat - and now may be reading too much into everything. A move in the right direction is better than nothing, despite it's so called pitfalls.

    Tuna in Brine Vs Oil

Maybe @bulkbiker is right - I'm probably expecting too much from a healthcare team.

    Tuna in Brine Vs Oil

I can do this and with sardines too. Delicious!' Unfortunately, m now trying to do the right thing to hopefully reverse the diabetes. And find something that suits both of us (my wife and I). My wife was always the healthier one, so she right behind me.

    Tuna in Brine Vs Oil

I was finding many bits of similar information about the oils used (may be a regional thing, as suggested above), as well as the effects that it drained the nutrients.

    Tuna in Brine Vs Oil

I read the blog The Nutritional Thingy by JoKalsbeek. I think it is very good. I'm interested in a low card diet so it was good to read. It states that "if you ditch the carbs, you should up another macro-nutrient to compensate" (Fats and/or protein) (I didn't know this). Further, I read "Once...

Question about targets for Blood Sugar levels

Thank you. (My wife) and I have cut down massively on carbs. I notice having an extra tortilla wrap with my 3 bean soup for lunch made a difference. Although Id also just finished a 2.5 mile run. Many thanks and happy new year.

Question about targets for Blood Sugar levels

I've been told I'll be able to manage it on diet - I'm in a lucky place - , so no medication. Although, the problem is that I've not been given any other details, other than told to research. Whilst I'm grateful, the problem I've had is I've got no baseline to know where I'm at or where I'm...

Question about targets for Blood Sugar levels

I'm new to this, as a T2, and have many burning questions. This one is about the "target" range (please bear with me) The page on diabetes.co.uk for Blood Sugar Range Levels states: - Normal levels for healthy people should be between 4.0 to 5.4 mmol/L (72 to 99 mg/dL) when fasting and up to...

    Recently diagnosed

I was diagnosed T2 on 5th Dec. Gutted but not a bad thing, I'm active by visiting the gym a couple of times a week, but I was equally if not more active visiting the pantry. I phoned docs after nearly passing out when driving - I'd felt light headed for months too. So a blood test came back 53...

Newbie after advise while awaiting dietician

Thank you again. I'm fine with eggs. I have the fruits and Greek yoghurt. I guess I'll just drop the Alpen too. We had the big debate about carb-loading early-2000s in my running club and later in my cycling club. My running partner was anti-carb 50 year old ultra-marathon runner, and a...

Newbie after advise while awaiting dietician

That is how I understood it. I'm just full of uncertainty and desperate to get back to normal, having thought it was hearing related and just getting used to it; maybe it's a bit of both though. Only vitamin D and B12. I understand there may e something (I can't recall the name) that is...

Newbie after advise while awaiting dietician

I'm 47 and was diagnosed T2 three weeks ago. Although, they said I was prediabetic 6 years ago - I don't recall being told. Moving on though. I've been told I will be able to manage my condition through diet and getting as much knowledge as I can. I'm awaiting an appointment with a dietician...

    Complaint reply from NHS
