    Diabetes Education...here i come!

Your triglycerides are a more important indication than your cholesterol readings. My last cholesterol was 5.8, but my triglycerides where 1.87. Keep them under 2, and you can afford to let your cholesterol go a bit higher.

    Latest full blood test results

I got my results on 1st August whcih were all good, and the DN asked what meds I was on. ( been with this same DN for the last 2 1/2 years) and I said I was on no meds, just excercise and a LCHF diet, and she just looked at me as if I had 2 heads. Sometimes I say to myself, really, what is the...

Running v Cycling - The Blood Glucose Experiment

The obvious answer to your question is, that when you are cycling you are using the biggest muscle in your body which is your quads. Running mostly uses your calf muscle, not as big, so burns less carbs.

Thats it then, its the fat that does it

Excellent work flyerphil, :D  but the only thing I would disagree with is the title of this thread. It's not the fat that does it, its the sugar and the carbs. As for thin people who are T2, I would love to see what their diet is, I bet even though they are thin, they are still eating...

Visit to the doctors this morning.

I read last week Walmart in the USA are lowering their test strips to $9.50 for 50 strips to help T2s, hopefully this spreads to the UK.

    Eye appointment.

I had to wait for 18 months before I got my eye test, and it took nearly 3 weeks to get my results back, all good thank goodness. Maybe ours is different over here, but someone posted earlier that it dosent hurt, well, when she puts the drops in my eye, it was one of the worst pains I have ever...

    Worried

Can I just say, when you are low carbing you need to replace the carbs with either protein or fat. Dont be afraid of saturated animal fat. Cheese, butter, eggs, animal fat, full fat greek yoguart, olive oil etc. When you have low fat foods, they take out the fat and replace it with carbs, so...

    Latest Hba1c

picklepepper, As much as we all want our readings in 4-6 range, I think we have to remember that many reports and findings are saying complications dont start until our Bg levels are 7.8 or above, ( Unfortunatly the NICE guide recomends 8.5 2 hours after a meal which is misleading) so you are...
