Yes and in evening after food. My husband I’d type 2 as well, he takes a towel to bed to put over his pillow!

    Hypos and trulicity

Have recieved libre yesterday for a free 2 week trial. I’m type 2 on trulicity 1.5mg once a week and had my last dose of metformin yesterday morning, all my other drugs have now been stopped including anti hypertensives. Was woken by alarm with 2 hypos overnight both 3.8, both resolved without...

why do i need to pay for my test strips as doctor will not prescribe

I would invest in one. At least you will know what’s causing you to spike and get immediate feedback on how well you’re doing with your diabetes control

    Exercise and type 2

I’ve just got a libre for a trial of 2 weeks and I may keep it on for a further 2 weeks so will have to play now my feet are working again and see what happens.bodies are complicated things and not always predictable. Food

Some members have put their diabetes on the shelf in remission, but they appear to achieve this with diet and by reducing carb/ sugar intake. It’s an acquired taste but have you tried dark chocolate with high cocoa content? Less carbs and harder to eat a lot of it.

The new glucose diet book, any experiences?

There was a podcast that I accessed via the Zoe study from Sarah Berry who also discussed the same thing. Worth a watch but was a bit longwinded. Sorry I’m not computer literate enough to give you all a link. The gist was that the fibre and fat controlled and flattened the sugar spike caused by...

    Insulin

Sounds like you need to go back to the doctors to adjust doses of insulin or eat more carbs. Personally I’d be looking to reduce medication on advice. Good luck

    Lack of consistency

Aren’t the testing meters given freely as cost lies in the strips? Perhaps it depends on the success of the drug reps, flogging their wares to the surgeries

Injecting yourself in a public place

My dad injects wherever he is, into his abdomen and has never had any comments made to my knowledge. Showing a bit of skin over your abdomen surely isn’t offensive. I can’t see how anyone could legally stop you

    Scared of high BS resultstoday

I’m sorry your family wouldn’t be supportive. The upside of a low carb high fat diet is that although I’ve been doing it to get my blood sugars down my weight is dropping as well, without trying! You will always find support here, the knowledge and advice from members has been tremendous.

    Exercise and type 2

How much does exercise impact on blood sugars? I’ve been low carbing for about 10 weeks now and coming off medication, just down to trulicity once a week and one metformin in morning. I had been walking about 2k a day and landed up about a week ago accidentally walking 14 k (long story)...

    Glucose monitor

Mine is by agamatrix given to me by surgery. Monitor is fine but I can’t say that the lancets are any less painful. How did you get on with the libre, mine is in post? Are there alternative sites you can use other than hands? I don’t know in those circumstances how reliable results are mind. My...

    New to Gliclazide

I’ve used glic for a few years and not felt unwell with it but have experienced hypo symptoms even though blood sugars are above 4. I believe it was because I wasn’t used to blood sugars at that level. Like you they’d been running a lot higher for a while. Low carbs about 50 per day for me have...

Low carb and sugar levels question

I made a few mistakes in first few weeks and would spike to 9’s and 10’s by not calculating carb content accurately. My bg meter was really helpful testing before and 2 hours after a meal. Once I’d got the hang of it blood sugars came down nicely and HBa1c dropped from 71 to 49 in 8 weeks. My...
