    Meter readings

Yes, it can vary from the same drop of blood from the same finger ! Treat these readings as a guide, don't worry about the odd dodgy reading. The meters have a tolerance of up to 15% or so.

Not quite fasted, but rather interesting

Does the C Peptide test not show this ? Whatever the reason, it's working :-) Nice work Dave. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

I Hate the whole Introduce yourself malarky!

The kitchen sales are removed as soon as poss and the other stuff is driven by members. As for the introduce yourself thing, that's optional, just ignore it if you like :-) If I done everything the internet proposed I should do, I wouldn't have time for anything else. Sent from the Diabetes...

    Confused

8.8 and 11.5 are actually within 15% tolerances. 8.8 could actually be 7.4-10.2 and 11.5 could be between 10.0 and 13.0 approx ! Good advice from others though, if you get a reading you think is odd, wash a re-test. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

What's your normal dose now Dave on a "quiet" day ? Could still be honeymoon but that's a long time now. May just go to show the huge benefit of exercise ? Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Any Idea's?

7 feels like a hypo because your body is used to those high BG levels ! As you begin to get these lower, these hypo symptoms at 7 should disappear and return in the 3's and 4's. It may take a little time. In the meantime, if you feel terrible at 7, have a biscuit or something but try not to over...

Not new to Diabetes but new to the site.

Welcome to the forum Hannah, I agree with the carb counting. I'm fortunate as that's all I've ever known. Must have been a nightmare before. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Type 1!

Sorry but this is clearly a wind up. If you are T1 diabetic, you need insulin, unless you have been mis-diagnosed. I'm going to lock this thread as my fear is this thread is raising the hopes of other T1's who think there is a new "miracle pill" out. Sorry, I'm not a fan of locking threads but...

    Trimming the stomach flubber...

As Dave says, you can't target a particular area of fat. Keep plodding. What may help the appearance is abdominal crunches which may help tone or tighten the area a little too. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Am I type 1?

Hi Martin and welcome to the forum. Short answer, Don't know, sorry. It could be either. My guess would be late onset T1 and honeymoon phase but that really is nothing more than a guess. The good news is that your new consultant is conducting the correct tests go determine diagnosis. The GAD...

Holiday food - how do we manage

There is usually a wide range of food on offer at these all inclusive hotels in Turkey. As others have said, you can get a good estimate on certain foods or you can stick with foods that you know you are OK with and have at home. If anything, under estimate carb content rather than risk hypo...

    Blurred vision

Blurred vision is usually associated with low or high BG levels. Are you testing your levels ? This should hopefully improve once you start to get glucose levels within target range.
