    Thank you both. Finally got my head round it. My personal figures are fine so I won't be going on a statin. I shouldn't have told her about the high fat part of my low carb lifestyle [emoji13]

    TC 4.5 Trigs 1.6 HDL 1.5 LDL 2.3 Ratio 3.0 Does this warrant being put on a statin? She's a huge fan of statins. I'm not. Any advice?

    That's the recommended frequency but I find I can predict my hba1c these days with reasonable accuracy based on my finger prick testing.

    ..... says lady at Asda Pharmacy this morning. I've been type 2 diagnosed for 2 years but decided to take the free Asda pharmacy finger prick test today. My reading was 6.3 - which is high for me (liver dump)? She also said it was possible to cure type 2. I think Asda should withdraw...

    I don't take any diabetic meds but as I'm on the diabetic register I am entitled to free prescriptions as the rules stand.
