Has anybody done ‘7 minute workout challenge’?

Hi guys/girls, has anybody done the 7 min workout challenge app at all? It’s an app on my phone and I occasionally do it. It’s basically core workout with pushups planks etc etc. The beauty is it only takes 7 mins. It really helps for someone like me who hasn’t got time for gym. Earlier this...

Whole grain bread and apple setback - help!

Yes it certainly interesting learning all these about food and about our own bodies. I thought tomato’s were safe as that was only ‘fruit I could have when I had gestational diabetes. Well they were hopefully are still safe for me. I’ll have a look at Livlife bread. Thank you!

Whole grain bread and apple setback - help!

Wow it’s shocking how much difference the type of carb makes not just the amount. I have a lot to experiment on and learn from. Yes these days often the standard or ‘expert’ advice can be so wrong. They change all the time too which makes it dubious anyway.

Thanks Redshank. I’ll aim for post meal below 7 and see where I end up with carbs. It’s getting more interesting!

Whole grain bread and apple setback - help!

Thank you. I’ve been wondering whether food types matter apart from carbs amount. I seem to be able to tolerate some carbs better than others. Yes only my BG meter can tell me how much carb is right for me. Just wanted some examples. When my new lancelets arrive I can get testing!

Yes that is really useful - Apple is relatively high in the ranking ( mid high). Really have to watch out what goes into my mouth then!

Whole grain bread and apple setback - help!

Yes good principle to go as low as needed. I suspect I needed lower and will experiment and see. Thank you! You haven’t seen my usual portion of rice prior to the wake up call of prediabetes - must be over 200grams per meal!

Whole grain bread and apple setback - help!

Thanks for sharing! 130 grams sound quite high still. I think my one slice of bread and one apple add to about 40 grams for lunch which was clearly too much. Maybe I am more insulin resistant and need to aim for less. I can start with 20grams per meal to see how that goes.

Whole grain bread and apple setback - help!

I’m prediabetic (I think pre type 2). I thought Fructose is only a problem when consumed in juice or added sugar but looks like I’m wrong. I’m learning to eat low carb so will have to restrict myself on apple anyway. Berries and tomatoes to go...

Whole grain bread and apple setback - help!

Does any of you know how much carbs I should aim for each day? Will low carb instead of the extreme keto enough to keep me away from type 2 diabetes? Currently in the prediabetes range with a result of 44 last month. Main problem is after meal which varies from 6 to high 9’s depending what I...

Thank you Snoopy! That’s comforting to know it doesn’t matter that much. I can still do my normal routine that’s good news.

Whole grain bread and apple setback - help!

Thank you for the replies. It looks like an apple is as bad as a slice of bread then (if not worse). Just surprised because apple is supposed to be the “good” food. I guess that’s part of error while learning and I’ll just have to miss my apple [emoji24]. Maybe I’ll swap it with berries as Jo...

Whole grain bread and apple setback - help!

I thought I was doing well with my reduced carb diet. However really disappointed earlier when my 2 hour reading was 9.7 after just 1 slice of whole grain bread and one apple! I thought whole grain was supposed to be better then white bread. Do I have cut wheat from my diet entirely? Or was it...

    Running before or after meal?

Hi I’m new to prediabetes and want to do my best to prevent developing to type 2. I’m doing LCHF diet. I’m generally fairly active. Running 2-3 times a week with each run anywhere between 3 and 8 miles. I have also run a couple of half marathons. Prior to the prediabetes diagnosis, I have...
