A few ..:) 1) I expected this one, guys doing curls as a whole body exercise etc. 2) People looking at me like I am a nutter, why you ask , because I am writing my lifts down in a little black book. 3) I forgot that you have to wear the right clothes , my old black t-shirt and rugby shorts...

So is Exercise bad for you

I know this may sound counterintuitive ,but I was having the same problem after lifting and tried different things and searched the net and found an article about having a "few" carbs before exercise and that this would lower levels "after" exercise, to my surprise it worked . It might not...

Finaly I dont have to suffer my cauli rice failures

I use a fresh cauli boil as usual strain then put back into the pan over the heat and keep it moving for a few mins, dries the cauli out perfectly,.......... tip I had via the hairy bikers for spuds years ago, works just as well with any veg.......

    Type 2 Life

I suffered with it for a decade trying all sorts of stuff to stop it , cherry juice , bromolin ? , going meat free etc and finally gave in to the doc and started taking allopurinol , and have been pain free (odd twinge) for the last ten years........ Poor hubby its the most painful thing I have...

Low carb don't get enough fibre

Funny you mention that but I posted a question yesterday about ordering some psyllium as I definitely don't get enough fibre (on Paper) but have no problems bowel wise............ But I do have Kefir every day :)

    Psyllium

I am on LCHF and doing fine but have read that I should supplement with Psyllium or Chia .... All is good ahem "downstairs" :bag: , (after the first few days of Keto).... But I eat very few veggies so short on fibre I guess, so should I supplement or not given all is ok downstairs. Cheers Jase

    Type 2 Life

How strict were you , as I have been having shaky/trembly occurrences for a bit , have lost a load of weight (LCHF) and got my bloods well down...... Went to the docs and got my Metformin halved and seems to have helped a lot. Am in 2 minds whether to tough it out until I can come off the meds...

How often do you weigh yourself?

Once a month for me too, first thing in the morning, personally would not go lower than every 2 weeks as weight does fluctuate quite a bit, plus or minus 2kg a day IIRC from some sources....so if you are aiming for a 1 kg a week loss you could weigh yourself one week on a light day and the...

Not being able to stay awake

I have suffered from sleep problems for years, and have found that not having to get up a silly o'clock in the morning has really helped, as it was that horrid circle of not getting off , looking at clock, worrying cause I had to get up and this causing me to not get off etc etc, have had some...

    Running with T2D

Me too , but had resigned myself to it (well walking miles a day to start :() after diagnosis but found it difficult to keep up, anyway I have always lifted ,so looked online to find the information sketchy with a lot of sources saying that it should be cardio (aerobic) type exercise for...

    'Only' on metformin!

Apparently the reason I get them was because I drove for a living, but when I mentioned I no longer worked she said I would probably not need them now, I did not pursue the subject and carried on ordering them along with my other meds with no probs, assuming (correctly) that the DN and Docs dont...

    Feeling down

Go see your doc , and he/she will see if you are deppressed, but you do sound down, best thing I did last year and these days they will get you some help (not drugs) probably on a course using CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy)... the course really helped me, and dont worry you can sit right...

    Controlled carb diet

http://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/ http://www.diabetes.co.uk/diet/low-carb-diabetes-diet.html I would say start out at 130g of carbs and slowly reduce to where you want to be . And aim for less than 50g for ketosis..

    Yokebe - anyone tried it?

I would say not looking at the ingredients..... pricey as well soy protein isolate (30%), Whey protein concentrate (21,6%), honey (15,3%), Skimmed Milk Powder, maltodextrin, Milk protein concentrate (5%), Release Agent (silica), vegetable oil, ferric pyrophosphate, vitamin C, Zinc gluconate...

    Beer

I was always led to believe that Holsten pils was one of the best (least worst) but its hard to find info on them and it varies from "next to nothing" to 10g a can depending on the site you are on..... This time of year a generally have a pint of lager to quench my thirst so to speak then move...

    Almost Passed out

I been having those same symptoms for a while now and have (with docs permission) reduced my metformin.... As said earlier you usually dont get Hypos with Metformin , but I had several low 4s and a 3.8 , so you could easily have had one , and the sweets you had knocked you back up to the 6.1 later

    Flexible working

As a union rep I dealt with a lot of flexible working agreements over the last few years, and there is a lot of misinformation out there, you have a right to ask and you have a right to have your request fairly looked at, but you do not have a right to it, we found the best approach was to go in...
