3.3 Getting low readings every day!

I used to get reactive hypos in the past, seems weird having a hypo after high dose of carbs but I guess our bodies are a bit wonky. Testing blood sugar is the only real way to know.

Moving From Humalog To Novorapid - Fifth Change In 8.5 Months

0.5u per meal is a very small dose, that would only cover 5g carbs on the usual ratio of 1u to 10g carbs. Do you carb count? Maybe the reason you aren’t seeing good results is you aren’t taking enough? It’s normal for short acting insulin’s like apidra, novorapid, humalog to have a duration of...

The meter is covered by a warranty so they should replace, unless it’s just the strips that are dodgy

    Food

Maybe you felt sick because your blood sugar was high not because it was savoury food? Two pizzas is likely to put your blood sugars up quite a lot as is roast dinner depending what was in it. Anxiety can also make you feel sick though and maybe you just need to push through it, eat something...

Do You Weigh Yourself Everyday Or Weekly?

I weigh daily, I lose weight when weighing daily and gain it when I stop weighing. I track my daily weight in happy scale which plots a smoothed graph showing the trends over time. To those saying weighing daily doesn’t show you what’s going on, I find it actually does do that so much more than...

    Dvla Licence Renewal

If you put no hypos and you have had any readings below 4 then it’s lying. You have to be honest on the form. If you’ve had 2 or more readings under 4 then put that. If you haven’t needed assistance with any and have awareness you’ll be okay.

    New Type One Diabetic

You’re probably building injecting up in your head to being scarier than it is. It’s just a few mm long, hurts less than having a fingerprick blood test if you’ve had any of those, and hurts way less than any injections you are given if sick as it just goes into your fat layer. Stick it in...

    Help With Buying Pre-made Lunches

M&S do boiled eggs which are near the sandwiches, packets of cooked meat, single portion size sticks of cheese, pots of sandwich fillings which are in the aisle with things like quiches etc (you could just take a spoon and forget about the bread). They sell sandwiches if you’re not low carb...

    Type 2 Hypo

Well clearly it fixed itself if you woke up fine but it is dangerous to not fix hypos especially after alcohol. Alcohol can drop your blood sugars and you have to be careful of alcohol after it.
