    Addicted to sugar

    I've been diabetics 20 years and I haven't found a cure for not eating chocolate. It's my addiction too, I eat it most days. I wish I could find some help to stop eating it.

    Ive been wondering the past few days if I'm taking the correct amount of lantus at night. I was told a few years ago to take 22 units at night I've recently upped it to 28 units but I really have no idea if thats enough or too much?

    Does diabetes make other health conditions more difficult to recover from?

    I'm never ill as such, if I ever have a cold it takes me weeks to get over but I was always like that before being diabetic. I've had a hip replacement, was out of hospital after 2 1/2 days and healed in the usual time.

    I don't understand!

    This morning I woke and my bs was 4.4' this afternoon I was feeling very shaky tested my blood and it was 4.4. I don't understand why I was fine at that level in the morning but I felt totally different this afternoon?

    gastroparesis, any sufferers?

    My dr thinks I may have gastroparesis, I often feel unwell after eating, wanting to vomit and my stomach feels very uncomfortable to the point I can't bear anything around my stomach. He's sending me for a endoscopy and a ct scan.

    I have spoken to my GP pratice and I was told that they do not get the test results, I've spoken to the consultants secretary a week ago asking her to send me results surely it can't be that difficult. Its my right to know!

    I don't get a letter after my appointment and she won't tell me over the phone either! It's very frustrating! I'm going to call them again tomorrow!

    Oil iiiioooôBloods always taken on the review day and am un usually told by the time I see the consultant That's how it's always done at my review. I've never had them taken before the appointment. I'm usually told at the appointment the results, well hba1c and cholesterol anyway!

    Weight gain Gabapentin and Amitriptyline

    I use gabapentin combines with morphine I havent gained any weight. My son uses amatriptilyn and he hasnt gained weight. All tablets have different affects on people. What I take would make a friend of mine sleep all the time!

    When I have my annual blood tests done I'm never asked to fast, I never have been all the time I've been diabetic.

    Anything under 4 is a hypo, I've been down to 2.9 with no symptoms!

    I work on a hospital ward 3/4 days a week 12 hours a day so I don't do any exercise I think I do enough when I work!
