    Pregnancy

I am thinking about children in the future - possibly in a year and a half/two years but I'm just worried about how my blood sugars could potentially affect the baby. I know your sugars need to be in a certain range but what would happen if j suffer from highs or lows? I know it's a while away...

    Please help :(

I'm under an immense amount of stress right now and it's sending my sugars crazy. My bloods shot up from 10 to 25 in an hour as I'm panicking so much about all my uni deadlines and I've been sick from the constant feeling of stress and anxiety. How can I try control this and keep my bloods...

What was everyone's blood when they go diagnosed?

46!! I was 12 and my grandma thought I had bulimia as I would hardly eat, drink bucket loads of water and literally crawl to the toilet 50 times a day as I had no energy!

    Dreading tomorrow

I've got my consultant check up tomorrow and I am dreading it!!! My last hba1c was 5.9, after a lot of hard work I finally felt in control of my diabetes. Injection sites

Does anyone inject on their thighs most of the time? If so do you find that it's actually making your thighs bigger? Or is it just me!? I've always had larger thighs and a smaller top half so I've always presumed this to be true.

    Diabetic coma - hypo

The only thing I remember was slowly coming round and waking up to three paramedics round my bed...clothes drenched in sweat, freezing cold and a line of glucose in my arm. My ex partner found me fitting in bed before I eventually lost consciousness. I hope you don't have to experience it!!!

    Pushing a Hypo

Don't push a hypo... I had a nasty one in my sleep last year - I was fitting and eventually fell unconscious - I have no recollection but my poor mother was absolutely terrified!!!! 1.9 is well into a hypo so always treat on the onset!!!!

What numbers do you consider to be a hypo...?

For me below four, but there have been times where my BS has been 2 before I got any warning!

    Time off work for DAFNE?

I took a week off uni to do DAFNE... I know it's a different thing but I asked for a letter from my DSN and uni were perfectly fine with that.

    Diabetes onset.

I agree - he's doing it out of worry and love. My mother did it to me (she's a pharmacist and recognised the symptoms) and I thank god she did as I was already in DKA by the time I was admitted to hospital!!!!! It's his child, if he feels a finger prick test is the best for her then good for him!!!!

    Ketostix

It means there are traces of ketones. I had ++++ a few weeks ago so I rushed myself to a and e but luckily it didn't develop into full blown DKA, just ketosis. But if you are in doubt call nhs direct or go to hospital - better be safe than sorry!
