    Very confusing!

Not sure about high but you have to be above 5.6 before driving. I'm actually not sure if it's strictly "illegal" to drive below this but it's definitely not advised and your insurance would be void if you had an accident and were below this. Maybe someone else can clear up the actual legalities?

Going to throw this pump out of the window!

Hi everyone, Thanks for all the comments. I am using the accu check combo pump and the flex link 30mm infusion set. Site is right side of my stomach just below waist band. Weirdly it never crossed my mind to check the batch numbers on the vials, though I did draw up some from a cartridge...

Going to throw this pump out of the window!

May has not been a good month at all. Started on a pump on 13th and all was great...for a grand total of 3 days! Then I started hypo-ing really bad, terrible weekend at work, but managed to get back to normal throughout the week. Back to the weekend and hypos again, even with an 80% reduction in...

    Am I doing something wrong???

To make the bolognaise a more substantial filling meal, put peppers (whole with the middles taken out) in the oven for 10-15 mins with some olive oil on. Then fill them with the bolognaise and top with mozzarella and/or cheddar is delicious! I had veggie version tonight :)

    Running a bit high...

I'm still at home (luckily) but can't manage to get my sugars below 16 and keep them there :( came down to 9.6 this morning when I woke up but after breakfast (yoghurt with strawberries 12g carbs) shot straight back up to 26.3! I've been asleep all day - just woke up and still feel tired and...

Sick day rules/ % how how much extra insulin to take when you have ketones?

I think I spoke too soon and didn't touch enough wood! Came home this afternoon - bgs had come drastically down (4.9 pre lunch rising to 9.4 1 hour after but 11.8 2 hours after.) This afternoon since being back on my pump it's all gone wrong again. Blood glucose up and ketones slowly creeping...

    Running a bit high...

I have 8 bg meters all lined up in a neat little row and are all reading within 0.6 of each other. I have NO idea why I have so many. According to hospital I have a viral infection I don't weigh my food any more - I used to but found that an easier (and forever accurate if my scales fail me)...

Since - Tuesday evening? I have changed the insulin in my pump (novo rapid) about 5 times since then and have had it all checked by the hospital for bubble or anything that could cause problems. Have also changed my sites at least 7 times and my pump is currently on a temp basal of 200%. Just...

    Running a bit high...

What I wouldn't give for a reading of 9 right about now! I'm back up in the 30s. Not sure what to suggest for keeping it down other than doing a basal test maybe if you haven't done one for a while? But it could just be a slight viral infection etc

    Uncontrolled type 1 & pregnancy

Also, do you follow DAFNE at the moment? If not it will help you to go on a DAFNE course as I did and found out I was pregnant te middle of the week following the course. I'm pretty sure that this had a huge effect on my improved control.

Hi, I got pregnant with my now 2 and a half year old when I had absolutely horrific control (HbA1C of 14.7 in fact). You need to see your diabetic consultant ASAP and they will be able to help. Have you done a pregnancy test? You also need to make sure that you are referred to a specialist...
