    OMG I am shocked!

Sorry for the delay in coming back - I went out for a long walk to try and get it down and now I'm showing 6.3 - admittedly 1.5 hours later as I didn't realise I was out for quite so long :-S. Do you think I just had a really weird reading or is it possible to get such a swing 2.5 hours after??

    OMG I am shocked!

I just had the good news that I'm pre-diabetic yesterday - so tonight I agreed with hubby to have a small doner kebab. I didn't have the pitta and ate 3/4 of the meat with half of the veg twigging half way through it had mint sauce on it so didn't finish it :-S The highest reading I've had...

    I'm waving at you! ( wave back ) :)

It seems that opticians can/do run services for agoraphobic and house bound patients mist - I guess not all of them do - but you may be able to track one down in your town? {{Hugs }} You've been through a lot - so a natural survivor despite the odds. You'll probably outlive me. The doc told me...

    Goodbye Type 2 - hello 'Pre-Diabetes' :-)

Thanks Clivethedrive and Freema - I have a fresh chance to follow a good weight loss and diet plan - especially now I know where I'm heading. It's been a good wake up call.

    Balsam pear (bitter melon)?

Hi Findo - I was told 3 weeks ago I was Type 2 and then today (after dieting hard) reclassed as pre-diabetic. I was reading your post with interest. What I don't understand is my Hb1Ac was 44 yesterday - so how come as a Type 1 you have 10.4. Is that a US reading or can T1 have really really...

    I'm waving at you! ( wave back ) :)

Hi Wayne - welcome - I'm a newbie too and just downgraded after 3 weeks to being Type 2 to Pre Diabetic so I'm really happy but it's given me a kick up the ar** to make major changes. One of which is to do even less dusting in the house. :-D Hope all OK with you...and your eye!!

    Pre Diabetic

    Goodbye Type 2 - hello 'Pre-Diabetes' :-)

I'm so happy. My HbA1c blood test yesterday came through already and the doctor says it's 44. I thought my last reading was 51 but she tells me it was 50 - but that aside....apparently they take a combination of the 2 results which means I'm just short of being Diabetes Type 2 now. It also means...

How long did you think you had diabetes before diagnosis?

@slip - I'm feeling ill too and have been losing weight and trying to drink more (not quite so successfully due to my problem fibroids pressing on my bladder - sorry TMI). When you said you were feeling ill - can you describe how you felt back then? I just feel soo tired and lethargic, no...

    Confused about blood readings

Thanks Oldvatr - I wanted to try the rolls as I'd seen a lot of people talk about them so I bought one out of curiosity. It was lovely but I don't want this to be an everyday thing because of the carbs and because I don't want to rely on eating bread every day either. I think this was to be...

Insomnia and weak legs post stroke.

Hi Stewpot - I had a brain haemorrhage and its similar to a stroke. I was also feeling very shaky and had reduced strength on my right side. It made it hard to do things like get out of the bath because my muscles would go into spasm when I tried to use my muscles to push out - and it's still a...

Game to get to know each other

I don't really remember much about my school life as we moved so often that sometimes I'd be in/out of schools in a matter of a few months so the memories have blurred together with my 12 Junior Schools :-) My earliest Junior Schools were in Germany where we went on the military bus at lunchtime...

    Confused about blood readings

thanks so much bulkbiker - much appreciated :-) all starting to make more sense as each day goes. Had my blood test today but can't get an appointment with the diabetic nurse until 26th of next month so I'm relying on you all instead :-D (no change there...never trust doctors anyway!).

    Confused about blood readings

Given the DP, does that mean that when testing new foods it is better to do it in the afternoons once DP is out of the way? My bloods are now down to 7.1 and just had stilton & broccoli soup and the other half of the Lidl protein roll (another new thing!) so I'll see what that does!! :-D...
