    Worried

@Geegee19 Welcome to the forum. As previously said, above, your 'numbers' wouldn't appear alarming. I would, though, be interested to know what you had eaten during the meals you tested after ... :)

Completely confused and nowhere to turn?

@Kiren K As you are Type 1 and Mr K is Type 2, it is important to appreciate that Type 1 and Type 2 are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT conditions. Might I suggest you get hold of a copy of Jason Fung's book 'The Diabetes Code'...

    Guidance please

I thought, for anything over 20, one should go to nearest A/E dept as it was considered extremely urgent. However, things might have changed ... What's your situation now, @rfakes ?

    skin Irritation - Librefreestyle

@Alidubai You could also try a search on Google for "Dexcom and Libre Rash", rather than just 'Libre Rash' and you'll find loads of links. Dexcom (an alternative system) has similiar issues. Various solutions are given to prevent such problems. Unfortunately, not all work for everyone.

Repaglinide and hypos how best to treat?

Is your Repaglinide in the form of tablet, perhaps? If it is, and isn't coated and maybe shows a scoring mark, you might try halving the tablets and take the same amount but spaced between your meals? You'd have to be in a position where you can monitor your blood sugar very carefully...

    Guidelines for Libre

:) I have to admit to using any ol' bit of scrap paper LOL No one will see the paper, only you, before you put your tape over it. A tip, though, re using kinsology tape: try not to touch the sticky side as it will subsequently not stick so well. Also, I pull 1/2 the backing off, stick 1/2...

    Looking for some positives

Hi @H.floodgate As @JoKalsbeek , I also suffer with clinical depression but, fortunately, I am able to take antidepressants and tolerate the side effects, including significant dietry restrictions imposed because of the type of antidepressants. However, in spite of medication, I do still have...

    Guidelines for Libre

Yes, I use Kinesiology tape and find it very good. I do have an allergy to 'sticky plasters' and sometimes itch a bit when I've first applied it. I just take an antihistamine for 1 or 2 days, depending on how it feels, afterwhich it seems to settle down for the duration Before applying, cut...

meds too big for me to swallow

Hi @lucylocket61 My suggestion would be to try the standard Metformin, lower dose initially (as already suggested above), crush them up, mix with something tasty and take with/straight after food. If you then get same issues as previously, ie gut problems, then ask to try the liquid form as...

Which enzymes do continuous glucose monitors use?

Hi @Rabdos I don't have a clue and didn't even consider enzymes being used. However, I put the question to Google and wonder if any of the links might be of help. Maybe you've already asked Google, of course ;) Apologies if you have Good luck in your search

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear of the sudden loss of your father and then on top of that, your cat. My cats are my 'children' and I really struggle to cope when they're poorly, let alone lose one. I really feel for you {{{Hugs}}} You're certainly not a failure, you a human with emotions and you...

    No Energy

@UsmanMo96 I agree with all the above, ie diet / fats / calories etc; (Long-term lack of sleep [I have same issue (+/- 3 hrs each night for past 20 yrs) so can sympathise] The other, very important, thing you might consider, assuming you are on Metformin, is that you might possibly be Vit B12...

    Medical opinion

Hi @Laconic I agree with the above advice/information and it's great that you could see that you'd been given poor advice from your HCPs (Health Care Professionals) I'm prescribed Glipizide, which is a similiar type of medication to Gliclazide but I didn't tolerate it well) With very...

Professor Ian Shanks The Man We Should All Thank

I saw this article yesterday and found the whole issue (intellectual property) interesting. I'm pleased he got this awarded, allbeit somewhat late The test strips are such an advantage and have since been developed further to include many other diagnostic testing.

    Confused

Hi @Kathy A Welcome to the forum. I'm not surprised you're feeling confused and you're not alone in this. Advice re Type 2 appears to be very varied and often quite incorrect. Carbohydrates, as you've discovered, are your 'enemy', in that they are processed to become glucose once in your...

I've been burying my head, not watching the news on TV nor reading the newspapers, apart from our local press ;) I agree, it's all rather / very disturbing. I'm hoping, when I drag my head up, it will all be over, dust settled and we can continue much as before ;)
