    bit of a wibble

Thank you I appreciate all suggestions due to being mostly clueless :) I did think about that but I don't add salt! Should I use and add just for the potassium? I eat potassium contributing foods.....the doctor has proscribed potassium supplements but given my diet it shouldn't be low. Sorry...

    bit of a wibble

Thanks for swift reply (feeling needy :)) I don't really add salt at all, however, I find cheese topping is good, which in all honestly is salt. I do like my salty foods. My understanding of my really high LDL is that it's probably good if you are lean and fit, possibly not if you are otherwise...

    Homeless Type 1

can't answer this but would like to offer moral support in this time of uncertainty. being vulnerable in the housing market is horrid. a home (note not a 'house') is essential to wellbeing. wanted to say (although a bit useless really) that i feel for you in your current circumstances and hope...

    Celebrating My Lifestyle Change

it's a game changer. both in a health sense and a psychological sense. that isn't x kg you've lost that's x kg that's gone for ever. anyone who's struggled with weight management will understand quite how powerful that is.

    Celebrating My Lifestyle Change

best thing of low carb is it's gone and it stays gone. give me 1kg of "never to be seen again" fat over any other value.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

ok not recommending this but years ago i had a stomach bug that wouldn't shift did the whole no dairy (now i think debunked) and fasting etc etc. Finally out with my mum at a pub, landlord prescribed port and brandy (mum prone to oversharing!). fixed. probably coincidence but i'll never know :)

    Stretched skin

I often concentrate on "what next" and forget to acknowledge "what's done", sounds like I should be guided by you and find some old pictures (no wanna!:))

    COVID 19 and anxiety

I'd say trust your instincts, there are simply too many unknowns with this virus, it is not "just the flu" for any age group. If you can live your life reasonably well while maintaining social distance then do it. No harm done, no justification required.

    Carnivore Corner

I find chicken broth can be tricky. First up it's surprisingly strong, a bit much really, it makes excellent chicken soup and is good with beans and lentils because it's so pokey. Also I find a huge variation in each batch, some are lovely, some not so much. If you have pets, especially poorly...

Blood Glucose lower 2 hours after eating.

is this your usual normal before eating or has this changed, not entirely clear from your post. ie were you previously at 5.5mmol/L fasting and have gone up to 6.1 mmol/L?

    Facing The Dreadful Facts....

Also perhaps be kind to yourself too, which is not the same as 'failing'! :) As others have said yes it is all possible with diet (hopefully, everyone is different). It's easy and also not so easy. Two days low carb no problem. Pick your favourite no carb foods and eat. After that it gets more...

    Celebrating with T2....

My celebration cravings are all savoury (not a cake person). I approached this by trying small portions and testing. So one roast potato, one yorkshire pudding etc. I have found I can eat these, if I control portion size, and hit the bg levels I want (higher than long term goals but not so high...

    A week in to diagnosis

I'm T2 so no advice really. Would say, however, yes learn about carb counting it will be useful and it's a good place to start with regard to the schools of thinking around diabetes and carbs. You'll find there's a lively debate going on! I think you'll appreciate Jason Fung's thoughts and...
