Thank you for this. Such a good point. Need to retrain my brain!

Blood Test Coming up - nervous!

I’m not - I have a slightly addictive personality and get fixated on things like numbers and have had eating disorders in the past. So my doc and I decided together that it would be best for me to not meter. Even my weigh ins are done monthly under supervision.

Blood Test Coming up - nervous!

Hi guys! So I got diagnosed as pre-diabetic in February. My HbA1c was 43 after two tests (first one was 48 but apparently it's policy to only diagnose after 2 tests.) Since then I have been Low Carb then Keto and lost about 33kg. I have a blood test coming up and I am SUPER nervous. What if...

    Celebrating My Lifestyle Change

Now that Boris is launching all these policies against obesity I feel it will only get worse. Already seeing that they’re going to be “prescribing” weight watchers to people ‍♀️

100%/ Especially for me - a one-time yo yo dieter determined to be more stable this time around.

    Celebrating My Lifestyle Change

Hiii everyone. Just updating this thread with my 4 week weigh in. 4.9kg down this time. That takes the total to 32.9kg lost. My first goal of losing 50kg is still a fair bit away... but it no longer seems like a pipe dream! I love this forum for the fact that I can even say that!

    Celebrating My Lifestyle Change

I love that I'm not the only one who does this! Can you tell me a little more about your Indian and Spanish styles? Sounds yum! It feels like such a revelation doesn't it? I was totally the same every time I've tried to eat healthy before. I feel so much happier this time around. And thank...

    Celebrating My Lifestyle Change

Ok 4 more weeks done - and I've lost another 5.5kg, taking my total to 28kg lost over 19 weeks! I haven't changed much except going up to intermediate level yoga. Lockdown has actually been super helpful for me because the usual weekend evenings out at restaurants / bars hasn't been an issue...

    Celebrating My Lifestyle Change

I'm not sure this is really of interest to anyone but myself but I figured I would keep updating this thread with my weigh ins. I'm 15 weeks in now and my total lost weight is now 22.5kg. I had a particularly strong week for weight loss last week though I didn't do much different in terms of...

    Scared

Hello and good luck with your doc's appointment today! And just FYI I cried on and off for two weeks when I got the call that I might be diabetic. I promise you that feeling passes as soon as you get to grips with a new way to eat - i.e. w/o carbs. It took me 2 weeks and it's so weird, I felt...

    Celebrating My Lifestyle Change

It feels very far away still, this future where I don't need to lose weight, but I'm academically aware of the fact that it's fat I'll need to increase. Right now just hoping I get to the point where I need to consider this!

    Celebrating My Lifestyle Change

Thank you for this info - I have definitely been wondering about the technicalities of whether I'm doing a Keto diet or not. Fear of fat is a hangover from WW conditioning but I can tell you that it's a dream to not get anxiety over things like bacon etc.

    Celebrating My Lifestyle Change

Yes I'd love to know also. Guess I'll have to see when everything becomes a bit more normal. They also always send me to hospital because apparently I have shy veins! I am hoping it'll be good news - I definitely feel better. I didn't think I had any symptoms before but thinking about it now I...

    Celebrating My Lifestyle Change

Hello everyone! I just wanted to celebrate my lifestyle change today on the forum that really helped me make it. I had my 12 week weigh in today and have lost a total of 17.7kg on a low carb diet. I am eating about 20g carbs a day but I don't think it's technically Keto because I'm not going...

    Carbs in Spices?

Thanks guys. I think I’ve come to the conclusion that I won’t worry about spices. I’m pretty good about staying <20g carbs with everything else so it hopefully won’t matter!

    Carbs in Spices?

Does anyone know where I can get the carb count for spices? Do you all count those carbs?

    Prediabetes during Coronavirus lockdown

Hi Diana! I'm no expert at this being something of a newbie myself but I was sort of facing the same lockdown fatigue as you until I started using a couple of apps to do aerobics and yoga by a company called Down Dog. It's an iPhone app and it's free until the end of May because of this COVID...
