Welcome to the forum, Suzanne. If you are on Metformin and Glimeperide then it is likely you are Type 2 not Type 1. You should get your doctor to verify your diagnosis, Type 1's usually require Insulin not tablets.Glimeperide is a Sulphonyurea which can cause constipation and also hypoglycaemia.

You would have to ask the Doctor or Pharmacist about this, being a liquid it probably is not modified release though.

Ask your Doctor for the liquid form of Metformin.

I just make a normal Christmas cake and ration myself to a slice a day. You could try using Splenda instead of sugar but have not tried it myself.
