10 things you may not know about carbs

I don't plan on reading it, but I'll make a wild prediction that it contains all the usual dietitian BS about "healthy, whole grains"

    LCHF Family Pod Casts

You might find this interesting, @DavidGrahamJones : My understanding is that industrial seed oils (canola, cottonseed, sunflower, safflower, etc) that are high in Omega 6 and are already oxidised even before being heated are especially damaging to blood vessels - especially smaller blood...

Dementia screenings needed in middle-aged people with type 2 diabetes, study suggests

Every time I see someone riding a gopher, my immediate thought is "I wonder if they're taking statins?" My legs have never fully recovered from the effects of my 6 months on the ****** things. Edited by moderator for language

Type 2 Some help with ketones

I don't think either of those drugs are SGLT2 inhibitors, so DKA is unlikely in the absence of very high BG in addition to ketones. The SGLT2 inhibitors can cause a DKA like syndrome even with low BG levels - see this post elsewhere on the forum...

Type 2 Some help with ketones

DKA is especially unlikely if you aren't taking medication. It can be an issue taking SGLT2 inhibitors and/or insulin. You didn't say which medications you're taking - can you please advise?

I don't call myself reversed or in remission or anything else, because I know eating above about 35g carbs in any one meal will take me higher than I want to be. I just consider myself controlled by diet. I'm still kind...

I interpret "over treated" as meaning "over medicated". In my experience as an unmedicated Type 2, I've never had anything even vaguely resembling a "hypo".

Changes to diet caused by new condition

If you are on the SR form of metformin, that may be the culprit. After just 6 months on that drug, I ended up with bleeding gastritis and low ferritin. I'm actually really surprised they haven't discontinued your metformin as it is known to cause malabsorption of nutrients like B12 in some people.
