    Pre bolus timing

I find pre bolus successful 95% of the time.....and thats likely down to basal and ratios being fine tuned..... If they aren't right, it wont be as successful... Are your doses adjusted within an inch of their life...? :)

Living with my type 1 husband’s mood swings

He definitely needs some help with the diabetes thats for sure...... Tough love is the way I would go......I would be confident he would be heartbroken if he was told in his current state hes not up to looking after his own child..... You say he got a Libre on prescription, so does that mean...

Type 1 Can someone explain to me what could have happened here?

People tend to favour a split dose of insulin for things like pizza, as there is still some glucose entering the blood stream straight away.......its only later on that there is a burst of carbs.....

    Support

Support for me personally comes in the form of understanding if I am not as energetic as usual etc.... Otherwise there is no support as such as all the daily tasks involved with my diabetes management are carried out by me.... its not unreasonable to expect support if you feel you need it, you...

Driving while feeling a hypo coming on

This happened to me yesterday, was about 10 minutes before I stopped outside a newsagent.....I did suspend the pump though....

Keep getting told by people that I can get rid of Diabetes Type one

I don't really having any feelings about the people who believe these things......why? Because it doesn't actually effect me and my management of the condition......ill happily prove people wrong all day long.....lol

Kidney damage after 2 years of DM1?worried mother

There could be several reasons for protein in the urine.......a UTI perhaps... what is his latest eGFR result? I don't think its anything to worry about going by his length of diagnosis and his control so far....

What is the rate of glucose uptake in a human cell?

Insulin resistance as mentioned above would be the main factor I think, which is different in everybody and is also effected by how fit someone is.....the more fit, the larger the muscles, the more sensitive they are to the insulin, which is essentially the key used to move the glucose from the...

    Type 1 Blood sugar

The app giving wrong doses and your unreliable correction is basically because your insulin/carb ratios, dose timing and correction factor are all likely not correct.....who knows what the basal is doing.... So you need to evaluate your insulin doses by: Basal testing the full 24 hours and...

How did you get your pump?

For me its was dawn phenomenon, and at that time my Hb was 8% despite rigorous DAFNE implementation.... I would think that having bad injections sites is a clear cut case for overruling all the usual criteria.....just as DP does in a way...

    Bed Time

If there is clothing on I would clip it on the front of my underwear....as opposed to the side as it sits during the day..... sometimes though I let it just sit loose in the bed, but I am now used it to it and i think my brain knows its there sub-consciously so doesn't effect sleep...

Type 1 Is it Dawn Phenomenon?

To confirm DP you really need to do a 3 am reading.....with a pre bed and waking one too.... if you went to the gym thought there is a chance you may have dropped down lower overnight and then the rise you seen was the livers response to that low....

    Different hba1c

Ultimately its just a rough snap shot of what your levels have been like over the last 90 days......so the accuracy of the number is irrelevant.... the general number is great though, so your risk of complication is pretty much non existent at those levels...

    Contour next one

got one free because I thought the Bluetooth connectivity would be good to get the readings on to the phone, but didn't really find it useful in the end....I already use the contour next link with my pump, which sends the reading to the pump for bolus.....so preferred that, before the libre came....

    Maculophathy

I echo what @Dark Horse is saying.... its really nothing to overly worry about at this stage... the beauty of regular check ups and good technology is that we can stay up to date with every tiny little change that takes place.....even though in this case, there is a good chance you wont need...

    Type 1 Blood glucose

I realise that....but it means that you can confidently say the issues that you have when eating normally are down to the dose and delivery of your bolus...so easy to fix....
  19. novorapidboi26

    Type 1 Blood glucose

this is actually good information, its means that your basal is more or less doing its job..... this makes establishing the correct ratios much easier.....;)

    Correct basal level

Hit the nail on the head..... Basal needs to be adjusted right to the limit for your true bolus doses to come through......and to be effective....;)
