    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

    so first week of what was supposed to be low carb diet but ended up a lower carb diet. weighed in 97.9 which is -.8kg, not bad considering all the biscuits I stuffed, next week we see what effect no biscuits has. :angelic:

    Just been diagnosed

    I count calories but only because by cutting carbs by calories have plummeted to bad levels and I have to make sure I eat enough. Once I get used to this I will stop.

    after remission question.

    For those who have managed to get your diabetes in remission, does this mean the NHS stops treating you as diabetic and hence stop monitoring, or do they continue even if your blood levels remain ok for a few years?

    fasting question

    Watching some of dr fungs vids on fasting. He says that you can eat what you like on the non fast days. I’m confused whether this means you don’t count the calories but still do low carb or whether you can as much carbs as you like?

    I was diagnosed in November, I haven't been given the eye test yet and the diabetic nurse did the feet check not podiatry. They offered a course which I didn't take because I feel Ive read enough, bit aggrieved to see it marked on my medical record that I refused the course. No one mentioned...

    Hi

    Curious why did you stop? My bp was around 160/110 and i was put on meds but I still continued weight lifting and the Dicx had no problem with this. I find my bp is lowest after a weight training session. by a considerable amount. Why would you wait to 85kg? I’m about 100kg and still weight lift.

    Heres my confessional of my abject failure of low carb diet, breakfast: half tin peaches(no juice), bacon(no nitrates), wholemeal bread and jam(not of to s good star) lunch: pork loin and carrots. yeah no potatoes bored at work: bottle coke and big packet of crisps ( all downhill from here)...

    any decent recipe shows on you tube

    Does anyone know of any decent recepiee shows on youtube fir low carb diets? I was looking for breakfast ideas and nearly every show had muffins, toast or lots of fruit. One even had roast potatoes!! They seem to equate diabetic diet with vegetarian diet.

    i fell of the wagon today had - 2 mars bars, 2 cunchies, 1l of coke , 4 mr kipling cherry cakes and a packet of poppables, 30 mini sauage rolls. to balance it out i had some chicken with salad. oh well, at least it can only get better in the new year :)
