    MS and type 1

Hi @Mmaabb welcome to the forum! I found it very difficult to find others with MS too, when I was first diagnosed with RRMS three years ago. There are a few of us though... I've had the joy of T1D for 27 years and MS was a shock as I put all the symptoms - pins and needles, being 'clumsy' - down...

    Steroids

I'm due to take I think about 125ml of IV steroids soon due to MS treatment and I know this will increase my BG, but wondering how high it will go and how long for? I'll have another dose 2 weeks later and then nothing for 6 months. Anyone able to advise on this?

Permission to follow a low carb diet (and fasting)

I have to adjust it at a certain time of the month, but I'm OK at it now. I only need to adjust up to 4u. I usually take 8u at 8am. Still have hypo awareness.

Permission to follow a low carb diet (and fasting)

Well, not really 'permission' as I don't need it, want it or looked for it. But I suppose I've kind of got it now :angelic: My diabetes consultation last week was a surprise to me. I was all set to argue how well low carb/keto was working for me and how fasting from breakfast to dinner also...

    Dvla Licence Renewal

Just to update, 1.5 warning symptoms - yes 1.6 - I ticked three or more hypos but none required assistance, which is the truth (never needed help). The only slight delay for me was with the neurologist (I have MS) who OK'd my fitness to drive. I got my licence renewed within three weeks.

Student Finance / Open Uni Study

I'm 41 and very much want to take up a part time degree with the open uni after having completed OU studies before (finished 2011). I'd have to sign up for student finance to pay for it. I've looked into this quite a bit and know that I wouldn't start paying for it (currently) until I earn £25k...

    Dvla Licence Renewal

I take it that a majority of type 1's realistically would put three or more hypos in a year?

    Dvla Licence Renewal

Received DIAB1 to complete. Just checking for question 1.4 - have you EVER had an episode of low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia)? I mean, of course YES? Seems a trick question to me... 1.5 do you get warning symptoms? I do, all the time, so I can answer yes to this. 1.6 how many episodes of low...
