    Injections. Or pump?

Pumps seem to be like marmite! My T1 OH said he will never have one, I have to agree if I was diabetic unless I had really uncontrollable BS on MDI I wouldn't want one either, people keep pushing us to get our 17mo on a pump but we are waiting until she can decide for herself unless things get...

Thanks I will give that a try next time

Type 1: Baked beans and toast, late rise?

How would you time that? Because looking at the numbers last night it took almost 3hrs for her to rise after starting to eat so even if I bolused after the meal she would have still had a hypo from the novorapid

Type 1: Baked beans and toast, late rise?

She has toast all the time and gets a rise so it has to be the beans, I know beans and pulses are low GI but I thought with white toast and the sauce it wouldn't be an issue. We always have the same brand of beans. I talked about splitting bolus with her consultant but he said no as it's too...

Type 1: Baked beans and toast, late rise?

Looking back at the logs this happens every time she has beans on toast even through different bolus ratios so it must be something to do with the food

Type 1: Baked beans and toast, late rise?

I didn't as the other readings before showed her going down, I was kind of expecting a low but hoped she might start to come up from her tea before I had to give her something

Type 1: Baked beans and toast, late rise?

That makes sense thanks, no the hypo treatment was 3g, just over half a dextrose tablet, she is only 17 months old and I expect 1g to raise her around 1mmol Edit to add, she never rose after her meal so I don't think it was wrong bolus just that she didn't absorb the carbs in time

    Glucose the pen needles

The glucorx are awful! BD are much better but more expensive so you have to ask specifically for them

    BMI chart

I'm 22 but I'm not happy with my body shape at all, my body fat percentage is too high which in my opinion matters much more than bmi

Type 1: Baked beans and toast, late rise?

LO had beans on toast for tea and had a low before finally being high overnight, I wouldn't expect that with the toast and sugary sauce of the beans, anyone shed some light?

Type 1 child: Are Ballet Dancing and string instruments ok?

I played violin although I'm not diabetic, he will develop callouses on his finger tips so will make lancing more difficult there and may have to use alternative fingers but other than that he will be fine :)

    Feeling ill

Sounds like transition or 'low carb flu', it does pass if you stick with it and you'll feel great when it does! Electrolytes help, and bone broth

Basal quandary for 17 month old

That's really interesting I didn't realise there might be seasonal changes! Is there particular reason for this or is it just an odd phenomenon?

Type 1: Computer says no !!!

Had this with both DD and OH, to be fair DD gets tested way more than recommend as she's only 17 months but OHs doctor gave him 50 strips for a month when I specifically put on the prescription request 250 [emoji51]

Basal quandary for 17 month old

Just a few weeks ago LO was on single dose of levemir, 2 units at 7pm which was causing lows in the night and we started doing a split dose of half a unit at 7am and 7pm. Today her 7am dose is 1 unit and her DSN just put her up to 2 units at 7pm because of highs overnight! How does it change so...

    Type 1: Carb counting apps?

I use myfitnesspal to look up values, it has a bar code scan feature which I like. I also use mysugr to record doses, readings and it has a nice bolus calculator (I actually couldn't be without this app now!)
