That is a Hickman Line . It goes into the chest and so the Chemotherapy is pumped around the blood straight away from the aorta. I have breast cancer but it as spread and my oncologist thought this was the way to go with the Hickman Line. I will mention my prediabetes to them . Thank you x

Hi I am having a Hickman Line put in tomorrow so I can have Chemotherapy directly into the line . Should I mention to them that I have been told I am prediabetic or not mention it? I wouldn't have thought they need to be aware but I wanted to make sure .

Just returned from a Oncology appointment and it seems like I have to have more Chemotherapy......I know this shouldn't be my main concern right now but will Chemotherapy affect my prediabetes?

Not sure how I feel about either of your posts @Erin @jay hay-char . I think @Erin is referring to the boy who was type1 diabetic and neglected by his parents and the system? He died a very slow very painful death the poor boy ..... it's heartbreaking . It was in Canada so I am not sure how...
