    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

I am up half a kilo but I have had so many people comment on my appearance (positively ) and I only have one pair of trousers (out of 10) that will stay up! I need to buy a belt.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Thank you to all those concerned about my disappearance! I am still here, but haven’t been recording my BG for a while. I caught the horrid virus (not covid) and have been more or less out of action since. On a VERY positive note, I fought for and had an Hba1C test (4 months after my annual...

Libre 2 has some strange errors

The 3 replacement sensors Abbott sent me after advising them of problems (see previous post) plus the two further ones I purchased myself have all performed flawlessly. I have therefore to assume there was a faulty batch.

    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

Weighed at doctor’s surgery just now, fully clothed including shoes, with a litre or more of fluid and lunch on board - exactly the same as last week so I presume I have lost a little bit. I, like @MissMuffett, will properly weigh tomorrow.

    Airplane food

Some airlines are banning nuts because of the possibility of nut-allergic passengers. No more free packets of peanuts with the warning”May contain nuts” on them ;)

    Keto numbers

My kitchen is around 9 or 10 deg C and the kefir is ready within 24 hours, sometimes sooner. I wasn’t sure about the fizziness either because I don’t like sparkling water. However it’s more of a tingle on your tongue which I have come to love.

I just realised I forgot to put my results in here on Friday - 0.4 kgs off! Yay, moving down again.

    Keto numbers

Kefir (my own, not shop bought) does not affect my BG or my ketones at all, unlike the shop bought stuff. I love the tingly stuff, thanks to one of our member @shelley262 who advocated it.

    ‘Stop Eating After 7pm’ Challenge

@AloeSvea Excellent post which I have read several times to assimilate with my own experience and thoughts. I am finding it easier and easier each day to stop myself snacking in the evening, but I don’t think it will ever be a case of not WANTING to snack. I can’t say I have noticed any...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Stuck in the stickies Libre 6.2 GlucoNavii 6.3 CodeFree 6.5 Sun is shining so I might venture out wrapped up against the 1 deg C temp and carry on where I had to leave off yesterday.

    cauliflower

My nightmare would be if cauliflower suddenly became extinct! Apart from the cauliflower mash, cauliflower rice, cauliflower cheese, roast cauliflower and bacon and cauliflower (to name but a few variations of this superhero veg), just grabbing a couple of florets to snack on is my go-to...

Low carb - where do you get your fibre from

I totally agree with both your posts @AloeSvea. Those are my thoughts and experiences too! (I thought I was donning my tin hat regarding the 5 a day theory - glad I am not alone.)

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Good to hear from you @Ashybang and you sound positive despite your medical problems. @RosemaryJackson good number today! That’ll keep you smiling. @Bcgirl I hit the garden yesterday, first real exercise in months, nay, years! I had to come inside after just a hour due to feeling nauseous and...

    Giving up coffee???

Hi and welcome @ema334. You may not get a response from the original poster as this thread goes back to 2017. Useful information though, thank you.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Libre 7.4 GlucoNavii 5.8 for me this morning. After adding some mashed potato (Smash, actually, with butter and cream) to last night’s supper, I am thrilled. Good to be in the hive as well. @Bcgirl that will be a thermal shock going to Sri Lanka from a snowy cold homebase- enjoy every moment...

    ‘Stop Eating After 7pm’ Challenge

Interesting! I suggested rooibos because it has very low levels of tannins. What about hot water, a sliver of fresh ginger, a sprig of fresh mint, with a sprinkle of cinnamon? Also good chilled in summer.

    ‘Stop Eating After 7pm’ Challenge

I had inhaled my supper last night by 5:30 - really really hungry for some reason. Plus I experimented by adding 20 gms dry weight (around 70gms prepared with water and butter) of Smash instant potato. It was ok, but not as delicious as I remember from a year ago when I last had it. My BG...
