    Type 1 - I hate this disease

I hate it too. I've only had T1 a year and a half. I'm 22. I couldn't be more fed up with it. I can't talk to many people about it and the people I can talk to can't understand fully because they don't have it and they don't really know what to say. I feel like everyone see's me differently now...

    Work issues...

They are a bit like me and just get on with it and don't like to fuss. Some of them have moaned but I don't know if they are eager enough to complain. There's only a select few who go out the front and even then they can't be bothered so work at a lazy pace. I only know of a couple of people who...

    Work issues...

Also I've been there for 5 years they know I've done a degree in IT and I'm good at what I do. Not once have they offered me a job in admin or IT or offered me a team leader role. Yet there's a guy who walks in earlier this year as a chef and suddenly gets a front of house team leader position 2...

    Work issues...

Yeah it is a general issue. It's hard for non diabetics let alone us. But it's like the non diabetics cba to help me when I'm struggling. Very little do and when they do they all pass the job from one person to the next. Management are even worse and dont put enough people on. It's week before...

TYPE 1s:: Low carb vs Low GI

My blood sugars have been pretty awful recently but today I had a few low gi meals but moderate carb and my sugars have been pretty good. I think that was the case. I don't have a great relationship with food haha [emoji23] especially since being diagnosed. Thanks for sharing :) Sent from my...

TYPE 1s:: Low carb vs Low GI

Thanks everyone. This is a big help. Low carb keeps my levels best and I've been eating that way for a while but I feel tired all the time and really low on energy. I have a really active job which makes me just wanna eat **** [emoji23] I've had way to many 'cheat days' and it's making me feel a...

    Bolus problems.

Sorry I am on mdi. Basal is wonderful but bolus is causing issues. Surely it shouldn't spike if I'm taking fast acting insulin to cover the fast acting carb? Yeah maybe I'll have to leave it longer before I take it... I usually leave it for 15 before I eat. Still don't understand the drop...

    Bolus problems.

I'm on Humalog and I've recently tried to cut down on carbohydrates because my sugars were diabolical. I had some fruit today, bolused for it - a couple of units - but it's still happening. Everytime I use Humalog it keeps spiking my sugars up to around 12 and then they plummet to below 4 in a...

    Night time hypos

Hi everyone. Recently started using the libre and it's showing both nights I have a hypo nearly all the way through and I don't wake up. Is reducing my basal the right way to go about fixing? Sent from my D5803 using Diabetes.co.uk Forum mobile app

Feeling guilty - had a binge

Boyfriend and I just had a pizza to ourselves. 200g carbs each. Couldn't eat it all so I had some ice cream to prevent a low. Everyone diabetic or not does it once in a while and why should it matter. Us especially should give ourselves a break :) Sent from my D5803 using Diabetes.co.uk Forum...
