    Libre sensor 2

Hi All, my iPhone SE 2020 has stopped reading my sensor and I am aware there are problems with this particular iPhone. I am therefore thinking of investing in an iPhone 12 and wondered if anyone has had any problems with this iPhone and the libre app with this iPhone before I buy a ne. Thanks

    Libre 2 sensor

Does anyone know if this new update on the App has cleared all issues with iPhone. I had to move to a reader a couple of months ago as there was a problem with iPhone SE. I don’t want to waste a sensor to find out. I much prefer the App as the reader isn as good

My Pet and Me - Alert Dog

My daughters retriever woke me in the night when I was staying at hers looking after him. He was sleeping upstairs with me as I was alone in the house. He has alerted me in the day as well but I was treating it at the time. He hasn’t had any training [emoji3]

Does anyone else feel isolated at times?

I am like you and feel isolated. I don’t think people do understand the daily struggle you have to keep things going in the right direction. I’m the type of person who just gets on with things so u suppose some of it is my own fault because people don’t actually see how tough it is and don’t...

    Glucose meters

I use an Accu check expert monitor which is brilliant as you put all of your carb to insulin ratios into it and it works out your insulin requirements based on BG and carb intake and what insulin should still be in your system from your last injection + a few other extra functions My doctor...

    Dafne

I thought it was a brilliant course. I hadn’t had any advice on carb counting and wasn’t managing my insulin at all well. But the course literally changed my life. You should do it [emoji16]

    Life saving pooch!!

My daughters dog woke me one night during a hypo when I was dog sitting, he kept licking my arms and wouldn't leave me alone until I realised what was happening to me. I thought it was a fluke but he did it the other day. I knew this time that I was having one and was drinking my Ribena and he...

Basal Adjustement and Bolus effect - help and advice needed

I split my lantus and have the lower dose at night and higher when I get up. This seems to work for me. I was told that if your morning reading is within +1 or -1 of your before bed reading then your basal dose is right. Good luck

9 month honeymoon period over, on to Carb counting

I did the dafne course a couple of years ago and it really changed my life. Before that I felt totally at a loss about my insulin and how much to take with a meal. I now count carbs all the time and feel in control of my diabetes rather than it controlling me.

Am I allowed to rant? Diabetic consultant...

I have just been put on bydureon by a consultant but when I read up about it it says it shouldn't be used with insulin and for type 1 diabetics as it hasn't been tested. The side effects are horrendous and the worry about thyroid cancer and pancreatitis has made me think twice. I am 6 weeks in...

Can people explain how they feel during hi's and lo's?

Lows - for me I just get a strange anxious feeling in my stomach, feel shaky, can't concentrate and get blurred vision. Highs for me just make me thirsty and need constant trips to the Loo. Hope this helps

    tired 24/7

When I get hypos they tend to be in the middle of the night and it is usually my basal insulin. It does make you feel tired the next day though so definitely look at that. That was very unsupportive of your DN. Have you tried the DAFNE course. It may sound over the top but that really changed my...
