    New omnipod

hi! I’ve recently started on the omnipod and as much as I love it I’ve been finding I’m not feeling myself dropping low very often If I do drop I either don’t feel it or I don’t feel it until I’m incredibly low Did anyone else feel this when they changed pumps? Any tips? Thanks!

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

I've just managed to get mine to 8.6, it was 9.8 six months ago so I've been working really hard to get mine down! Proud of the progress, but still working on it :)

    Omnipod help!

Hi, I'm considering moving from the Accu check combo to the pods, and I'm after some answers! 1. What is the insertion process like? Does the needle remain in you for the whole three days? Or is it a plastic tube under your skin? 2. How painful do you find the insertion? 3. How comfortable...

    Medtronic versus Omnipod

Hi guys, I am in the process of upgrading my insulin pump on the NHS and of the list of pump potions I have narrowed my choices between the omnipod and the Medtronic 640G. I wondered if anyone had been on either of these and had some reviews for me, I am unsure which would be better. Also...

I love seeing everybody's tattoo ideas! I've got a few but not one for diabetes yet, but I'm planning to have mine around the tenth anniversary of my diagnosis something like this

Student Meal Planners N Tips - Carb Counting On Auto Pilot!

Hi! I'm type one myself and in my third year at uni, and I've had a really similar problem. Breakfast is the hardest point in the day for me, but I've found planning in advance what will happen in a morning is really useful as well as something that takes very little prep and can be a bit of a...

Accu Chek infusion set for swimming

I use the flex link and I find it's great. Each set has a little plug for swimming and works brilliantly for stopping the water getting in! I used them on holiday and worked a dream :)

    Freestyle Libre trial

Been offered a trial of the freestyle libre from the hospital yesterday, just curious if anyone had tried it? My hba1c is too high and was wondering if anyone had found if it helped with sugar control? Thanks

    Overwhelmed

I was diagnosed at 11 so a slightly different situation but I know I wouldn't have been able to survive that first year without my mum around - but she was doing my injections for me for a while. I just want to remind you that there's no same in moving back to have that support, diabetes is...

Hypos and depression at the worst time..

Hello, I'm hoping I can help a little, as I'm in a very similar boat. I'm in my second year and depression and anxiety are getting a lot worse at the moment and I just know it's having an effect on my health. And it sucks. I think it's important to have someone around you can talk to about...

    'False lows'?

So recently, I have been having spells where I feel exactly as I do in a hypo...to the point even other people are noticing how it changes me. However, when I go to test, my bloods are completely in range. I was wondering if anyone else had this or had any suggestions as to why it's happening...

    Type 1 Piercings type 1

Oh don't worry, my helix has been in nearly three years and it's only properly just settled. But talking to friends who aren't diabetic, they say they sometimes have had a similar experience so I don't think it's too worrying. If anything is wrong I would talk to the piercer or a doctor if its...

Accu Chek Spirit Combo Problems - anyone else?

Hi, I'm on the Accu Check Spirit Combo pump and though mine doesn't turn itself off it does drop to low battery within 24 hours of replacing the battery - which is frustrating but the only thing I can suggest is looking at potentially a different model, it's what I'm considering

    Type 1 Piercings type 1

Hope I can shed some light on this as I'm Type One, and have ten piercings and my sister is a body piercer so can hopefully share some advice; my first thing is make sure you've eaten beforehand and your sugars are in range as adrenaline can do strange things. The second is that where you are...
