Two hour 16c sea swim, where do I get the carbs.

Hi All, For my sins and my big mouth I have entered the Diabetes UK Relay Channel Swim. The actual swim requires that i swim for an hour and have five hours to rest and refuel, and off I go again. I know that shortly after an hour my bs starts to plumet. Trouble is in Dover Harbour next...

Urgent, tell me I'm wrong! cool head needed

Ho Phoenix, What a weight off my back. All I read last night seemed to confirm a friends comment. Thank you very much. I can't tell you what a relief it was to read the pages you pointed out. Phoo. I feel I'll have to mention my diabetes though, even with it being under control. It is...

    Numb area on leg

hi, I get pins and needles on lower surface parts of my leg and foot. I feared this was diabetes related. But apparently it would have to be 'numbness' to be caused by diabetes. Turns out the small pain in my back is the cause. I was diagnosed with swelling around the nurves in my lower...

Urgent, tell me I'm wrong! cool head needed

I am going for a second interview for a driving job on Monday. I ticked "no notifiable illnesses" on the application form. But reading info on this site, I am just plain wrong. I have not notified the DVLA. I have to withdraw my application. Tell me I am wrong. Thanks I might come over...

Informing the DVLA of type 2.

I was under the impression that we are not required to inform the DVLA on becoming type 2. Is this correct? If not I've been a naughty boy for the past two years. And would affect my insurance in case of an accident. Thanks for reading/replying

    Can Januvia produce a hypo?

Thanks for that Cugila, a thorough answer as usual. My latest hba1c was 6.9 and very pleased I was too. As I do not test I will have to bear in mind the warning signs. It is a bit of a worry living alone. I'm partial to a guinness myself. I was in Ireland recently and I was'nt worrying about...

    Heated discussion at Boots

Well, Boots sound generally pretty professional and careful. Only sorry I don't have a local store. I take five or six different meds every day and it is a concern what such a concoction could do to me. All power to boots I say.

    Frozen shoulder from diabetes?

Hi Thanks for your replies. I first had probs with my shoulder seven years ago, five years before being diagnosed with diabetes. The hospital got me over the worsed. Certain exercises now keep the worsed away. Guess I will have to live with it. Thanks.

Sitting on the Throne - often!

Slow release did the job for me. But you have to ask even puch for them perhaps. SR cost the NHS more so they try you on the ordinary metformin. But if you need SR you need SR. Take care

Anyone heard of a new product called DEcarb.

Anyone Tried DEcarb? (shape smart) Ya it's cheating. But what works works, right. That's if it works. That is my question, does it work? If it sounds too good to be true, it's too good to to be true! Yes. But, has anyone had a good or bad experience with DEcarb? It would be good to know...

    Hungry for life?

Your choices will be taken away from you if your blood numbers deteriate. You are at a crossroad and fortunate to be aware of your position.
