    Hypos?

Thanks Jaylee. I have ordered some strips. I had no symptoms, maybe a bit tired but nothing dramatic that's what was so concerning. I will speak to my GP.

    Hypos?

No, I don't have in date strips. The out of date strips are +2 but they are a couple of years out of date. I wasn't lying on my arm, the last alarm went off when I was walking around TESCO.

    Hypos?

Hi Im t2 female, last hbaic 66. I am week 3 of 0.25 ozempic and 1000mg of metformin. For the past two days my libre2 alarm has been going off with readings of 3.8-3.4. I drink some lemonade and it goes back up. Why is this happening and how can I prevent it? It's worrying me that it will happen...

Type 2 First meal of the day spike

Hi, my waking BG was 6. I had all bran and yogurt with blueberries. I seen a massive spike, if I had that at lunch it would have not spiked more than 2. It seems I will have to try 10g carb and see how that goes. Thanks [emoji4]

Type 2 First meal of the day spike

Thanks [emoji4] So would you recommend a very low carb breakfast and then I can eat more carbs as the day goes on? I know I should be as low carb as possible but I find that utterly depressing. I'm willing to take medication to eat a bit more normally, I know some people on here will think...

Type 2 First meal of the day spike

I am 51, female and t2 for the past 5 years. I take jardiance and metformin. My last HBA1C was 61. I'm trying really hard to get my numbers down and stay in range by exercise and eating better (mostly low carb max 80g per day). It seems that no matter what my first meal causes a 5 point spike...

How life and diabetes can change in 14 weeks!

Big hugs, life is so hard sometimes but it will get better honestly. Can you apply for joint custody of your son? If not maybe try to see him during the week for a game of football or a trip to the park? When my husband and I split up he FaceTimed out kids every night, that helped. Would your...

Eyesight better with low carb diet ?

Hi, I have been low carbing for a week and have already halved my morning readings which is great but my eyesight has been adversely affected. This happened the last time I went low carb too. I didn't need reading glasses to read but now I have to use +1 to read my phone and laptop. Is this...

    Type 2 Help

I was off the rails over Christmas and for the last few months, no control and eating what the rest of my family ate. To be honest my control was never really great but I seemed to get away with it until now. I have to get a grip, I feel like an idiot, I should have been dealing with it, it was...

    Type 2 Help

Hi, I was diagnosed about 5 years ago with T2. So far I've managed with metformin and diet, my last HBA1C was 61 in October 2021, I've managed to get it to 41 before with a strict diet. The past few months I have been under considerable stress and I'm menopausal. I haven't checked my blood...

    Type 2 Saturated fat?

Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking ketosis ive tried it many times but it's just not for me, I hate the restriction of carbs to that degree, I still want to include some carbs in my diet like a slice of wholemeal bread, some fruit or even a potato with dinner. I've been back low carbing for a...

    Type 2 Saturated fat?

Thanks for your reply. The app seems to say about 18g of saturated fat per day, I'm well above that as Im eating cheese, butter etc I'm eating about 70g on average of carbs and low sugar, I'm not in ketosis and I don't want to be. I just don't want statins if my cholesterol goes up, it was 5.8...

    Type 2 Saturated fat?

Thanks for replying. Yes that's my main concern. I know that high fat is fine if you're low carb but I'm moderate carb so I was worried that the higher saturated fat wasn't a good thing. So I can have a halloumi salad for lunch then [emoji4]

    Type 2 Saturated fat?

Hi, I am back on the low carb wagon. I've been using an app to track my carbs etc. Each day my saturated fat is nearly double what they recommend. I'm not Lchf or keto just 60-80g of carbs per day. Is this harmful? Should I try to reduce it? Thanks [emoji4]

Type 2 Low carb ride or die!

Hi, I'm back on the low carb wagon after several months of freefall! If slowly going back to my low carb favourites. What are you favourite meals/treats/drinks that you couldn't do without? I discovered lidl 70% dark chocolate with salted caramel it's 5g carb per large square, it's a real...

Type 2 How long before readings fall?

Thank you everyone, it certainly has been the worst time of my life so far. Upwards and onwards as they say. Today is day 1, I'm going to take it slowly as this weekend has been a tough one emotionally. My BS was 9.4 this morning, breakfast at 11am and I've just had lunch, I had all bran,full...

Type 2 How long before readings fall?

I have been diabetic for about 4 years, metformin and diet controlled. In March last year I had normal range readings during the day, HBA1C of 42. After an absolutely horrendous year, which included watching both my parents die within weeks of each other, I've had several months off the rails...

    Diagnosed officially today. On metformin

I feel your pain, I love Disney and I've been many times. I think one treat a day (as long as it's accompanied by 15,000 steps and maybe a swim in the pool) is my way to do it. It's not ideal but it's my holiday and I want to enjoy it. It's so much better than my days of eating all the treats...
