I'm 15 years poorly control and struggling to get on top of it.

I've done dafne. I have a pump and libra sensor. I work from home and have no dependants so I don't know why I can't get my head around this flaming disease. My a1c is always around 8% and I'm so ashamed. I feel really overwhelmed and do not know where to start. Can someone take me back to...

Do you wait until you are in range before eating?

I realise this is possibly a silly question but my by dsn said to me yesterday to make sure I'm in range before I eat. I'm pretty poorly controlled atm and taking steps to improve. I often am 11-14 before my evening meal and I usually correct alongside the bolus for my meal. Should I be...

    Anyone choose mdi over pump?

I had to fight and wait 5 years for my pump. I needed it due to dawn phenomenon. I have had the medtronic minimed just over 2 years now. Its coming up to my review and I'm seriously considering asking to go back to injections. Yes the pump has eliminated my dawn phenomenon and improved my Hba1c...

    Adjusting carb ratio

I have this last couple of weeks started eating better and have noticed every evening I hypo. I have my dinner at 6pm and will go low around 730/8ish then if I snack around 9pm I'll go low again around 11pm. I'm not sure if I need to adjust my carb ratio or my basal rate? It does seem to happen...

    Flying with pump

Just to update everyone since my original query...I didnt end up taking the letter from my gp as she was charging me £30 which I just couldn't get my head around. Eventually got one from my dsn but it arrived after my holiday! At the airport I didn't take the lanyard just a personal decision...

    Flying with pump

This is fantastic info..thank you all so much for taking the time to reply. The only think worrying me now is if I'll have my gp letter in time. I was told it was not a priority so will be handled as such and that I'll have to pay. Eeeek. I tried my dsn for the letter but she hasn't returned my...

    Flying with pump

I'm going to spain for a few days and it's my first time flying with the pump. My dsn isn't a great help. Once I managed to get a phone call with her I was only advised to take it off at security and not not put it through the scanner. She also said I wouldn't need a letter as they are well used...

    Ct scan/xrays

Thanks everyone. I did ask my dsn but she didnt know so told me to ask on the day. I wanted to be prepared beforehand though hence me asking here. For the xray I had to disconnect and I left it outside the room with my friend. For the ct scan they said I could leave it on but just to be safe i...

    I love my pump!

Yes. The problem was I needed google chrome but in order to download it I needed to disable the security settings. Once that was done it was smooth sailings! Thank goodness for tech savvy people or I'd truly be lost lol.

    I love my pump!

So almost 1 week on the minimed 640g, finally got carelink set up and got myself a nice little sticker for her! My morning bg has been in the 5s every morning. Having suffered from dawn phenomenon I'd never seen that pre pump! I was incredibly anxious about starting and delayed a few times. I...

    Laptop advice for carelink

I have to set up carelink with my pump and need to purchase a laptop for this. It must have windows 7 or above as far as I am aware. Having absolutely no clue about this could anyone advise me on a simple laptop I'd be able to use for this purpose. Tia :)

    Jazzing up the pump

I'm on day 3 of life with my pump and I am delighted with it! I woke this morning with a bg of 5! And I didnt have to force myself awake at 4am to inject to combat the dawn phenomenon. Delighted! I've seen online some people buy stickers to jazz up the look of the pump and was wanting to know...
