    What Age?

I was 50 years old. Today I'm 63 still pre-D. (My most recent hA1c was 5.8) I went in to see my GP when I turned 50 years old. Part of the routine annual physical exam is what the doctors call a Comprehensive Metabolic Panel blood test. It included the hA1c. My mother was diabetic, therefore...

In Reality Is A Diagnosis Of Pre-diabetes Any Different To A Diagnosis Of Type 2 Diabetes?

Hi gardengnome42 - So far it has worked for me. I've been pre-D for 13 years now eating low carb. It's not always easy but it can be done. It is easier for me to eliminate sweets than to try and control the amount. Recently we celebrated my wife's birthday with some close friends and family. At...

Hi KMPMBA - I have also been pre diabetic for many years. I read what you eat for 2 meals, and both included bread. Try eating the same meal without bread, pasta, sugar or processed carbohydrate. Are you snacking? That will also cause your blood sugar to rise. WHEN you eat is just as important...

Makes sense to me. If people follow the dietary advice by eating bread, bagel, pita bread, etc... their blood sugar level will go up, they will become more ill and need to keep using meters and test strips. But if they eat low carbohydrate keto diet and reverse their diabetes no one will use...

    Bored stiff

Snacks??? You will do your pancreas a big favor if you eat less frequent each day. When you eat is just as important as what you eat. Look up Dr. Jason Fung on You Tube and listen to what he has to say about intermittent fasting.

    Quinoa and pearl barley

I agree testing is the most accurate method to determine how you react. I don't have a meter and too frugal to purchase one. What I do is eliminate the food product from my diet if there is a strong possibility that it will cause my glucose to rise. When I do have a strong craving for...

”Fasting - The Movie”. Any thoughts?

This is how I avoid eating 3 hours before bed time. I do my bed time routine of brushing and flossing my teeth. If I get the urge to eat, I will drink a glass of plain water.

How Long We Can Control BG With Low Carb Diet?

Eating low carb works for me too. T2 runs in my family. But I'm determined to stop it from getting me. My A1c was in the 6.1 range. Now I've been doing intermittent fasting and I'm in the upper 5's. 5.8, 5.9. I also exercise daily.
