Should probably post this on the pump forum! But … had OmniPod, switched to Medtronic 780G. 2 reasons for the change: hybrid loop system and OmniPod on body is uncomfortable to sleep on and in some ways more limiting for sites. I miss the tubelessness (sic) but so far happy with the choice. You...
I’ve got Guardian 4 - due to go Smart on Tuesday ;-) I was on OmniPod.
I hate having tubing, I like that the stuff affixed to your body is smaller (OmniPod is uncomfortable when you lie on it!), the handset software is great and the phone app lets me see BG at a glance without having to scan...
Thanks. I guessed as much. I don’t wear a bra so your solution won’t work for me
It’s a shame. It would be better as a minimum to have two settings, one for alarms and one for normal events. To me the end of s bolus is not something I need to be told about!
I’m new to this pump as of 3 days ago. I’d like to silence the beep on bolus completion while retaining other beeps (eg low insulin). I’ve looked through the menus and can’t see a way to do this, can anyone help please?
Since in a few days diasend and Libre will not longer cooperate(!) - i.e. you will not be able to upload Libre readings over USB to diasend any more - are there good alternatives (there must be right?) In particular, they must not only store and analyse the data but support a wide range of...
I am currently on Omnipod and have Freestyle Libre on prescription also. We're considering moving, and wonder what the rules/provision are in Wales around Insulin Pumps (especially Omnipod) and Libre on prescription. Can anyone tell me please?
Also, do you have experience of Type 1 care in...
Since Insulet took back UK distribution from Ypsomed, the return scheme has gone to pot! There are no instructions provided, which way do you make up the box, where do you take it, to any DHL outlet? Will DHL pick it up?
I recently stopped taking my statins (getting cramps and want to see if stopping Statins helps that). After a week or so I noticed I was starting to get more hypo s- at all times of the day. I've been tweaking my basal rates and bolus doses - my basal rates are now at least 20% below what they...
I've been using a Libre and noticed toast for breakfast sent BG really high. So I've switched to Nut Granola hoping this would deliver its carbs more slowly but not noticed much difference. Is it really low GI as I would have thought?
To continue this discussion: just got a copy of Pumping Insulin 6th ed. A cursory read on p83 suggests my assumption is what Walsh recommends but no pumps do it. I.e. Pumps don't deduct IOB (BOB) from the carb bolus, but they should according to best practice.
Re: x-rays
I don't believe x-rays harm pumps. Certainly the OmniPod is ok according to their information (can't remember offhand whether that's in the manual i.e. something I read on their website). But follow manufacturer's guidance on this.
A question for OmniPodders out there: have you ever had a new pod that seems to take a while to start operating?
I put on a new pod yesterday evening and then overnight my BG steadily rose until at 4am I bolused a correction with another one at 7am. Now it's operating fine. I did not eat carbs...
Are you allowed to consider the OmniPod? I've been using it for three weeks. Glad not to have a tube although it's larger on the body consoles with a tubed "set" but without the separate box.
