What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Well, 6.5mmol today, that's more like it. Now if I can just keep it that way. :D

Advised to reuse lances? Is that right?

I change mine when it starts to hurt, usually every month. But I do use alcohol prep every time and so far I haven't got an infection or sore finger tips. I even reuse my needles. I change them out every week, bad I know, but so far have not had any issues. I keep them in the fridge along with...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Good Morning all :D. 244mg (13.8 mmol) this am. Not great but better than I have been. I'm getting over my fear of the Novolog so I am going to take some shortly, 2 units should do it without dropping dangerously low. I'm supposed to take 1 unit for every 50mg I'm over 150mg. I am determined to...

    Not coping

I was put on an inhaler too, and told to rinse. I didn't know why, but now I do. It is Symbicort. I noticed it also drops my BS a lot. Prednisone on the other hand raised it a lot.

    What have I done?!

Let me start by saying that I do not think that you deserve this or brought it on yourself. I am type 2 and have been for over 2 years now and I do not have mine under control either. Usually I run high but recently have had issues with being way too low. It is so hard to keep the levels right...

    Confused

Thank you for taking the time to answer back. You are right, got to ease off slow and get more slow acting carbs to level me out, instead of the sugars which jump me up quick and then disappear leaving me too low after they are burned off. I have a diabetic nutritionist calling me to work out a...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Good Morning/Afternoon. I slept in since I couldn't sleep last night. I woke up at 299mg, (16.6mmol), and while it is not that great a reading it's not as high as some of my more recent readings have been. I simply have to quit eating in the middle of the night. Sometimes I don't even remember...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I do plan on putting my diet in order, I just have to be careful because I only have 20% of pancreas left. So I have to also be careful that what I eat won't give me another pancreatitis attack, such as nuts, greasy food, etc. Usually my numbers aren't this bad and it doesn't have these highs...

    Endocrine

Not good, sorry to say. I hope you are doing good. My blood sugar keeps jumping up and down the last 4-5 days. I had 48mg, (2.7mmol) and then an hour later it was over 500mg, (27mmol). That was a couple of days ago but same thing had been happening the last 4 days, from way high to way low...

    Confused

I have been diabetic now for a little over 2 years. I have had trouble keeping my blood sugar in the proper range but have been trying to do better. I usually run around 200mg (11.1mmol) give or take as an average. Not good, I know. I have had some better weeks, some worse weeks. My problem is...

    Whatever possessed me?

I am sorry to hear that but at least you were aware of it and resolved it with the appropriate action. It is hard to get diet under control, I know that all too well. I was on a feeding tube down my nose, for many months while dealing with a pancreatitis diagnosis. That was on top of being...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Good Morning. I woke up at 55mg ( 3.1mmol.), normal range is 80mg -150mg (4.4mmol - 8.3mmol.)for me. When I went to bed it was 496mg ( 27.6mmol.). Over the last 4-5 days my reading have been either really high or really low. My readings normally had been in the 200's, (11.1mmol.), which is still...

Currently I'm just plain worried. My readings have been bouncing from very low (40's 50's, 60's)) to very high (400+), and I don't know why.
