Stupidly cheated and now feel awful!

I've been fine all year since diagnosis, however for a few days last week and this, I have basically been very naughty. Just eating a few biscuits/cakes/mince pies at work here and there and now I feel awful. I am peeing more often and my groin aches, these are exactly the symptoms I had just...

Just had my second HbA1c test since diagnosis. It's gone up to.... 39 from 38! It was 73 on diagnosis. However this could be down to the following: - A few beers during the world cup. - A few ice creams and french baguettes on holiday in France. - I was on antibiotics for a week last month...

Thanks for your kind comments, lets hope I can keep this up! Hopefully I can pack in the metformin too. Seeing my GP next week, glad I didn't follow any of the dietary advice she handed out on initial diagnosis! :)

    Protein bread

I found it in Asda yesterday, it tastes sort of similar to the Lidl rolls. I had one slice with no ill effects. There are five "slices" in the 250g ack, so each slice is 50g, so just halve the 100g nutritional value. So just under 4g of carbs per slice.

For those on low carb - do you ever have bread or potatoes?

A few roast potatoes in a roast dinner didnt spike my levels, however a load of mash did.

    Low carb beer?

Let me know what you think of the Cisk! It tasted like water to me, plus I am half Maltese and much prefer the "normal" Cisk! In response to your original question, when I go out I have 1 or 2 beers (max) then switch to red wine and/or spirits and diet mixer. However watch out with certain...

My First Attempt at a Low Carb Cake

I bought some Coconut Flour to try a few recipes, however I thought I would try and replicate a cake, swapping normal flour for Coconut flour (albeit less) , and sugar with Xyliltol (half the amount), 2 eggs and some rasberries. The mixture was a lot less than I expected, hence it isn't very...

I've become a low carb binger..

Since being diagnosed a few weeks ago and going all low carb, I now realise I have replaced the usual biscuits and general carb rubbish I was binge eating with cheese and meats. Yesterday I had basically a whole pack of Stilton cheese, and the day before a whole packet of continental meats in...

Is it normal to have normal readings so soon after being diagnosed?

Sorry, I've updated it. I don't know where the insulin reference comes from .
