8 week BSD to reign things back in

Hello folks, So I’m a year into my T2 journey and started out really well reducing my HBA1C from 58 to 39 and 43 within a year. I’m due to go back in 2 months but I definitely know that bad habits have been creeping back. It was the 8 week BSD that worked for me the first time round, so...

    Latest HBA1C - Thankyou LCHF

Heh Rachox - so yes the fasting blood sugar was done at the surgery, I’m averaging around 5.9 at home first thing, so 6.1 is fair - I have heard that FSB is the last to change so I’m not so concerned about that. I think the initial diagnosis was a blessing in disguise as I’m now taking steps...

    Latest HBA1C - Thankyou LCHF

So just got my latest result down from 56 to 39. Not only was I over the moon, my doctor was very impressed. Total cholesterol slightly up but ratio is the best he has seen. I’m proud of this achievement but know that I have to keep it up. FSB was 6.1 - does this still sound quite high ?

Type 2 How long is too long for high BS

I was definitely surprised that my levels stayed above 8 for a disproportionate (in my opinion) amount of time - will work to get things back on track and not be so complacent going forwards

Type 2 How long is too long for high BS

Hi friends, I’ve been struggling the last few weeks after a pretty successful 8 weeks post T2 diagnosis. Started off with a slice of bread here and there and quickly snowballed. I’ve noticed my bloods over the past few days are hovering around 8 a few hours after eating. I’m starting back...

Have you been told not to test your blood sugars?

Interesting thread, I went to see my doc yesterday, the first time since diagnosis. I took with me a printout of averages over the past month almost expecting a pat on the back. In fact I was told off for taking readings saying it was not what I was told to do. Naturally I will continue but...

Newly diagnosed...please does anyone know if volvic sugar free flavoured water is okay to drink

We are similar on HBA1C petal, I’m at 58. After 3 months, the MySugr app predicts 5.4, which translates to a non diabetic level. You can do this

    Type 2 Strange Low Results

Hmmm - so after a stressful day and with the sun shining down, I went for a few (3) beers after work - first alcoholic drink in 3 months since diagnosis Coupled this with 3 sausages and a salad when I got home and thought better do a blood test. Very surprised to see a reading of 4.3...

    Blood sugar diet

Heh Will, I’ve just completed the BSD, well followed it loosely, more principles based - there’s a FB group which you may want to join, lots of friendly folk in there. I’m looking to do it again, properly this time and I found the principles has definitely helped my sugars. I lost just over a...

First real carb intake - not a good move [emoji15]

Wow - thanks for the insight, will read up on this and what you say makes perfect sense. I’m definitely back on low carb for a while to give my body a break and will remember this the next time I look to introduce some carbs back. Also thanks for the advice on the OGTT, don’t want docs to...

First real carb intake - not a good move [emoji15]

Thanks folks, I’m in more of a positive mood now. Ultimately it is better to focus on avoiding complications than to get emotional about not being able to eat bread. Will monitor bloods to see how long it takes to come back to normal numbers

First real carb intake - not a good move [emoji15]

So today I had 1 naan bread, it’s been about 3 months since diagnosis and 2 hours later my bloods are the worst I have seen since I started measuring. Feeling somewhat frustrated as my levels have been looking good - guess I thought that was a sign that I can reintroduce normal eating. Does...

    Worried about husband

Hi Ruby, Different people react in different ways, underneath it all your husband is probably very scared and holding his emotions in. For me, when diagnosed I was lashing out at my loved ones who were trying to do the right thing - but to me felt like interference. I quickly had to get...
