Hi all I’ve been on the Medtronic pump & g4 sensor for the last 3 months & while the pump itself is great, I’m finding it hard to keep them attached or connected to my skin. I have 3 sets of patches to keep the sensor in place & the pump comes unstuck sometimes as well. Now I’m on holidays &...
Hi all I’m on week 7 of my minimed insulin pump & g4 sensor. I’ve just switched on SmartGuard & everything is going well. The one thing that’s driving me nuts & making me stress out is the g4 sensor & it’s unreliability. It keeps disconnecting for no reason, falling off even with special patches...
Hi @Agraham1826 I’ve recently started using sensor plasters from a company called My Sweet Stitch on Etsy. They do a good range of different plasters and really hold the G4 in place. Good luck!
Thanks so much Nicola…there’s sooo much to take in but you’re right about it being all about getting good control so fingers crossed. Great to hear it gets easier!
Thanks so much Ellie…I’ll try & persevere! My sensor has also just fallen off my arm…eek! It all takes a bit of getting used to but hopefully it’ll improve once I’m onto the insulin & I see the benefits!
Hi there I’m a 54 Yr old T1 & I’ve just started training on the Medtronic pump + G4 sensor. I was on the Dexcom g7 before this which I found great. My time in range has always been around 60% so overall control could be better. I’m finding the pump itself very uncomfortable & awkward…it keeps...
Do you ever try glucose shots? I get them from my pharmacy & they’re perfect for popping in your bag/ pocket. 1-2 shots usually does it & they’re easy to knock back!
I’ve had T1 since I was 12 (38 yrs ago) & had severe laser treatment for advanced retinopathy about 20 yrs ago. I’m on daily aspirin to thin my blood but get a bloodshot right eye regularly. Not sure if this is common in diabetics or if it’s connected to the aspirin. My consultant says it’s...
Thanks for the replies, it was really good to hear your views on it. I’ve researched it a fair bit & I have come across a link between very high levels of glucose during pregnancy & autism (mostly T2s) but nothing concrete. The reason I was worried was the hallucinating during the hypo...I went...
Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge on this? I’m a T1 & when I was pregnant with my second child I had a very severe low blood sugar episode where I was hallucinating (at the time my testing kit was faulty & giving misreading a so I didn’t know I was that low). Anyhow all was fine & I’ve...
Hi I’m away on hols & I didn’t bring my sensor reader with me as I use my iPhone app. I tried starting a new sensor but it keeps telling me it’s ready to start in 60 mins. When it says it’s ready to scan & I scan it says that I need to rescan & when I do, it tells me it’s ready to scan in 60...
