I’m the same! I find me not eating breakfast actually helps with the Hypers I find it more easier to control. When I wake up and eat blood sugar go sky high but if I don’t eat a simple 1-3u does the job for me. Same goes with exercise a few hours after rising

Woke up and tested myself it was a respectable 8.4 had an interview so didn’t have time to get breakfast or eat anything just drank water. Now my sugar level is 15.5. Weird thing is this has been happening quite frequently to me. Changed from levemir to lantus the same thing is happening to me.

Also what is a basal test? How do I go about doing one? After research online it says I just inject long acting then fast?

Also it will rise after exercise too even if I haven’t ate anything. After a correction dosage till bedtime the levels are fine it’s just within that time frame of waking up and after my 1st meal if I don’t eat it still rises.
