    When informing the DVLA...

There is and it asks if I've had 0, 1 or more than 2 in the past year which is kind of what threw me off

    When informing the DVLA...

Hey everyone, just a quick and probably stupid question. I am finally informing the DVLA [I haven't been driving beforehand dont worry lol] of my T1D and on the form it asks if I've had an episode of low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia) whilst awake. I have had a readings under 4 that needed some...

Dramatic changes in blood sugar pattern

Hey everyone. thanks for all the replies. little update here: On Thrusday and Friday I thought I was getting back to normal but then I had my vaccine and despite having no symptoms [other than shaking a bit for an hour 12hrs after it] I haven't felt unwell at all but my sugars have gone even...

Dramatic changes in blood sugar pattern

Hey everyone, I've been T1D for just over a year and until now I think I've managed it well. Suddenly this week, I can't get "low". I've gone from always being in range to having 12+ mmol 4 hours after almost every meal, even when I take corrections for the previous high. I've even raised my...

    Sudden pattern change

I am also nervous though to do more as although it will be the right thing to do at the moment, if my levels went back to normal I'd be doing way more than I need

    Sudden pattern change

They normally are around there, but having this high reading is throwing off the rest of the day a little bit. I was diagnosed in early February and I've been off of uni since March and been having a pretty similar routine to now since then, so I can't see how a change would have affected it as...

    Sudden pattern change

I'm a uni student who's currently on break between terms and have been for a few months. In all of these days, I haven't gone out of the house, showered, worked out or anything like that between when I've had breakfast and lunch.

    Sudden pattern change

I wake up and have my breakfast pretty much straight away, so I have 4-5 or so right before breakfast and as I wake up. I then am usually at 5-6 4 hours after breakfast, which is usually when I have lunch too. The 8-11 readings are at this time 4 hours after breakfast. In recent days I've...

    Sudden pattern change

I have porridge and toast (always same porridge and amount). Usually I'd use 4 units and starting at 4-5 is end up between 5-6. Now starting from 4-5 ending up at 8-11 using 5 units ☹️

    Sudden pattern change

Out of all of the things you listed above, nothing has changed. Obviously there was hot weather in the UK recently, so I would maybe blame the pens there, but they're fine for every other meal of the day, the same as the meter. I know that I'm probably still in the honeymoon phase, but it seems...

    Sudden pattern change

Hey all, I was diagnosed around 6 months ago I was diagnosed as T1. I have pretty much the same breakfast most days and have always used 4 units to cover it and been perfect. However in the last 4 days, with the same units and food as ever but I was having levels of around 10. I've since...

Should I split bolus for McDonald's?

Hey all. Thinking of getting McDonald's later (would get chicken strips and chips). But obviously McDonalds is really high in fat. Should I split the bolus? Obviously it's not an exact science for everyone, but would it be recommended?

Coronavirus - How at risk am I?

Hey all. I've just turned 20 and was diagnosed as T1 a month ago (with DKA at the time). My control is quite good at the moment (4-8 most of the time) and before diabetes, my immune system was very very good ( I can't remember the last time I had a flu (touchwood)). Will the fact my bs was very...

    COVID 2019 Comorbidity with Diabetes

Not long diagnosed and already a near pandemic to avoid :( I've not seen anything about how at risk young adults with diabetes are though, only diabetes in general but still very worrying!

    Large spikes hours after eating

This is probably true. Given what happened last couple of days before this where sugars raised slightly I did eat a tiny bit less to ensure that I wouldn't go too high. Might be the cause! Thanks for the help. Will eat more for the same for the same bolus next couple of days and see how it goes...

    Large spikes hours after eating

But I've sky rocketed since then? It's not even as if I'm eating pasta or pizza or something. It's just a sandwich and its making my blood sugar go all over the place....

    Large spikes hours after eating

Happened again. Went from 6.3 at lunch to 3.9 after 2 hours, up to 9.0 now. Really confused as this has never happened before especially given I'm not eating that much fat
