    780G questions

Hey! I have been a member here for some time however haven’t posted in a few years now. I finally started on the 780G with guardian 3 yesterday and so far I’m getting used to not catching tubing on everything and figuring out the best place to clip the pump! What I was wondering though is if...

    URGENT HELP. Trimethoprim?

I know I'm resurrecting a really old post here but just thought that I would chime in - I have just been told by my GP to come off this medication because it was affecting my sugars so badly - my sugars have not been below 20 in the 5.5 days that I have been taking this - the infection cleared...

Best bag for testing kit, etc in PE

i know you can get joggies and other sportswear that have a zip pouch at the back designed to carry keys and stuff - could be big enough to keep a small disposable meter, small finger pricker and a pouch of glucose gel? it may not be his everyday meter but a more compact one such as this one...

hello! i dont know of any packs or anything but i do know of a book which has really helped. carbs and cals (http://www.waterstones.com/waterstonesw ... tAodLXwA1w) uses pictures of food portions to try and help convey how much carbohydrate is in a variety of meals. is she familiar with carb...

    Black Tea

supposedly black tea is just as good for you as green tea - so long as theres no milk involved. to avoid dairy over load with my tea i drink russian caravan - or lapsang souchon as i think they taste better than non-milky tetley's although if you believe the kinks - tea can cure chronic...

I am currently studying for my PhD at university so am probably facing similar day- to- day situations as you are. if ever there is somewhere i want to eat am am unsure about the carbs - i email the restaurant. Diabetes and alcohol

i dont suggest this as any kind of long term approach, however i cut back on insulin before drinking and dont adjust for any cp's in alcohol then generally drink the night away and expect a sugar of around 15 in the morning. also if u have a 2:1 ratio in the morning id sugest that gets put back...

    Carbs!

Re: Carbs! have you done dafne? it basically says just that - eat what you like (within reason obv) and adjust your insulin to the carbs you have consumed. having just had a large empire biscuit i rather like this way of thinking! :D

    What caused it???

I know T1 can be a pain but i never think why me when i know there are so many people out there with far worse conditions than i/we have...for the most part it is a manageable condition adn, for me certainly, has very little restraint on how i live my life :-) i have no family history of...

    Injecting & testing in public

Re: Injecting & testing in public I tend not to make a fuss and just get on wih injecting because at the end of the day if someone has a problem with your medical condition, it is after all their problem... where i work is really good as people always are inquisitive as to if my sugars are...

    Raised cholesterol level

i was told that in diabetics the production of 'good' cholesterol was suppressed and could lead to a high overall cholesterol ratio, so its not that you have a diet full of food containing 'bad' cholesterol. unfortunately mine is curently at 6.7 and at 24 really dont fancy the prospect of...

    T1's, drinking and clubs

my usual plan of attack is to deal with (relative) highs in the morning rather than to worry about going low - again as i drink alot of lager this generally helps keeping the sugars up. other point of note is that my morning NR is usually half that for a comparible breakfast on non drinking...
