Thinking of going onto insulin pump tandem t:slim

I was MDI for many years and am glad I understand basal, bolus dosing…etc. However I am now very reliant on my pump. It does a better job for me than I do. It really scares me that I might have come off the pump for some reason. Even 24 hours would be horrible. I could manage it, but I’d...

Medtronic Simplera Sync sensors not available to order

That’s very disappointing. Man….My G4 isn’t that bad right now.

Has anyone else been told they no longer meet the Type 1 Diagnostic criteria?

The test requited by my insurance to confirm type 1 (and cover pump supplies) was C-Peptide. And mine was undetectable. It was my understanding that antibody tests cannot diagnose type 1. I found this piece. I didn’t see a date though. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/313764

Thinking of going onto insulin pump tandem t:slim

I’ve been on a pump (Now on Medtronic 780, G 4 cgm) for about 8 years after many years on injections. It’s improved my management a lot. I can’t imagine life without a pump. It’s a lot of work, but worth it. I’d read a lot about the options before deciding. There is an adjustment to being...

    Guardian 4 sensor

I’ve had repeated problems but recently got 6 days on one sensor and 7 on another! Shocked! I’m trying to get my 780 adapted to pair with Simplera now. Will switch to Simplea soon I hope. Supplies are short.

Switch from Omnipod 5 to Medtronic?

I was hoping you’d get some input. I’ve been on Medtronic 780 for over a year with good results. It’s not problem free, but still good, i have considered Omnipod with Dexcom. There are many options now. Do ypu have a Special Mode you can put your pump on while exercising that lowers the...

Medtronic Simplera Sync sensors not available to order

I read that Simplera becomes available to order in the US Monday. I’m in the US. I want to try it. The Medtronic website that shows how to update the 780 from the Guardian cgm to Simplera cgm seems straightforward. I just want to make sure all Medtronic 780s can switch to accommodate Simplera.

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

I’m in US and for my health insurance to cover my insulin pump supplies they require doctor visit, including notes and a1c every 3 months. My endocrinologist is booked up a year in advance so it’s a struggle. I get the blood work done at my primary doctor’s office when I can. My latest a1c...

    Medtronic 780g with simplera sync

It must be a quality control thing. I had great accuracy for 4 days…..then bam! Sensor Updating……out of no where! BG had been 111. I let it update for several hours….I knew that Notification was the kiss of death for that sensor. It was…..after 3 hours it said Change Sensor. I wonder if...

    Medtronic 780g with simplera sync

I had my hopes up for Simplera. I had read good things. I’weary of my Medtronic 780 with G4 going out after 4-5 days repeatedly! I never get 7 days anymore. I’m not the problem. It’s not coming loose. It’s not due to wonky BG numbers. It just happens every week now. I’m beyond disgusted...

    Diabetes Burnout.

Self care can be a lot of work and require a lot of energy. I’ve managed type 1 for over 24 years and feel fortunate I’m still pretty healthy and vital. I realize everyone is busy, but have you considered a weekend get-a-way or retreat? I realize that might not be feasible for everyone. I...

T2 on insulin getting lows in the night

I had to convert those numbers, but isn’t 5.8 the same as 105 in American numbers? Is that considered hypo? For me, and I’m type 1, that’s a great number and I wouldn’t consider it low. What numbers has your doctor recommended for you?

Introduce Yourself: Answer Some Personal Questions

Hey Jamanuel and Allan, I‘m a bit of a nutritional fan, but I’m type 1 not 2. So may not be the best person on diet for type 2’s. I take insulin by pump, so cover my carbs that way.

Introduce Yourself: Answer Some Personal Questions

Good luck with your pump. I think you’ll like it. I started pump treatment over 5 years ago and love it. My BG management greatly improved. I’m about 25 years type 1 as well. I’ll look forward to seeing your posts.
