Diabetic complications or am I going mad?!!!

Due to the dawn phenomenon and now having a pump. I test continuously to adjust pump accordingly as I'm still in the beginning process, so I know it's not low BG ... My BG's are so much better as before I was chasing them down from high twenties every morning before the pump. I was concerned...

Diabetic complications or am I going mad?!!!

Could you explain a little more about hypothyroid. During my time investigating my own symptoms I've come across this time and time again but still have negative results from doctors. I have recently had a full blood work and am going in this week to ask for a copy, I really can't live like this...

Diabetic complications or am I going mad?!!!

Stra strangely I had to do a no carb blood glucose monitoring for 12hours a few weeks back. Apart from being hungry. I noticed I felt better but it wasn't long enough to really see if I was just having a good day. I just don't know which and what to cut out :/

Diabetic complications or am I going mad?!!!

Fibromyalgia is something that has been considered, and mentioned. My mum has Fibro. Although rather than do the necessary checks for Fibro and confirm it is they have just palmed me off to pain management. The only thing is, is I don't have much problem sleeping. At times pain wakes me up, but...

Diabetic complications or am I going mad?!!!

Sorry Toto, yes I've had checks for RA, vitamin D as I said and thyroid.. I'm not sure what tests they do for the others but as I said the docs have little time and make me feel like I'm going mad. They've only recently started to pay attention since my rash appearance. Oh and I have had nodules...

Diabetic complications or am I going mad?!!!

Hi all, I've been checked for Celiac. I'm finding the doctors have very little time to see me. So a different doc each time has very little time to review everything again and a majority of the time will prescribe the same thing ie painkillers instead of getting to the bottom of the problem. I...

Diabetic complications or am I going mad?!!!

Hi, I'm type 1, have been for 23 years. My diabetes has always scared me and never been easy to control. After years of up and down levels I started feeling extremely Ill. I participated in Dafne, they realised I had 'bad' dawn phenomenon. Waking up on 27-30s everyday isn't fun. So I had a fight...

    I'm getting a pump!!!!

Hi k8tie, yes I carb count. I have completed the dafne course an tried many different tactics to try bring the levels down from 20-30 in the morning. Although they are 6-8 before I sleep. I have had a year an half of getting up at 3-4am and checking also and no hypos are occurring, but GREAT...

    Sunbeds and pumps

Sorry this may seem a little dumb :/.. I know very little atm, so do you just detach the pump clip and pump itself and leave the other part in? Or detach the whole thing an go on a day you need to change it? (Sorry I have no idea what the little tubing and sticker thin is called yet lol)

I've just been fitted with a pump, have a million and one questions, but I was wondering if you can use a sunbed safely with the pump?

    I'm getting a pump!!!!

Hi, thank you for the advice, I will look into it straight away. I'm feeling so lost, when doing everything you can for yourself but it doesn't make any difference. My levels are 20-over 30s every morning and the continuous glucose monitoring proved it was dawn phenomenom. I feel so awful...

    I'm getting a pump!!!!

Hi, this is great news! I have a question though. I have had bad control for quite a few years now, through no fault of my own. I have gone from a healthy fit 35 year old to one who suffers pain and feeling useless. I was diagnosed with the dawn phenomenom over a year ago now, they told me I...

    Pump wear/where?

I am hoping to get a pump soon and have already considered clothing. I'm quite petite, and whilst I can enjoy wearing smaller clothing I'm hot weather. I have thought of creating a bra, a push up/ padded one, whee you incorporate space I'm one side for the pump?

Have you done the DAFNE/DESMOND courses or anything similar?

Re: Have you done the DAFNE/DESMOND courses or anything simi I've recently completed the DAFNE course. Has been a huge help, although not solved my issue of the dawn phenomenon, but diagnosed this. Without a pump I cannot do anything about it, also has helped so much with my eating habits and...
