Thanks again everyone, The result just came through for him - it’s positive. :( He does seem a little better so hopefully he will bounce back now. I still feel ok, apart from I need to go to the dentist (my appointment was Thursday which needs cancelling now ) So looks like I’m going to be...

I think my husband might have covid 19...

He’s not diabetic (I have type 1). I am concerned for him, even though he’s fit and well he always seems to get more sick than I do when we catch things, but have to admit, my concern is for myself too. I’ve not had good experiences in hospital in the past (especially when it comes to anyone...

I think my husband might have covid 19...

So, my husband works at a secondary special school as a teaching assistant. He’s been working in a ‘bubble’ of 7 children, another teaching assistant, and a teacher. On Thursday, one of the kids was off with symptoms, their test came back positive for covid Thursday evening and they told the...

    Levimir advice please

I used to do the exact same job and remember using a lot less insulin in those days - it's hard work! I agree you need to be testing whilst at work. Take a week or so to test more and write it down. It will be a pain but it will prob give you the answers!

    Finding the elusive pattern

Hi all! Does anyone here struggle to find a pattern with their blood sugars? I'm really trying to improve things for myself and part of that has involved writing down more. I now write down my blood readings (pre and post meal, before bed and during the night), I write down carbs eaten...

What reason are you on a pump?

It seems that there are many reasons for being put on a pump. I wasnt feeling too optimisic about getting one as my a1c is 7 and the NICE guidelines suggest a higher one to be considered for a pump. But for me to get that 7% it is ruling my life, I have to try really hard just to achieve a...

    5% CLUB

Hi there 5% club, just curious... Are you all pumping or do you achieve this with MDI? I have to say I have no idea how you do it! I low carb (<50g per day), I test before each meal, 2 hours after each meal, before bed and at 3am every morning. I swim 3 times a week and walk 3 times a week, I'm...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

Just got mine back today. 7.0% A slight improvement from 7.3% but I'd love to be around 6.5% (and able to lose weight) Not going to beat myself up about it. An improvement is an improvement, no matter how small!

I took on the NHS big wigs .... and won!

Hiya, Well done on winning your case and most importantly raising awareness. What they did was completely negligent and Im glad that they have acknowledged it. I myself recently had a birth debriefing (2 years after the event as it took me so long to feel strong enough to pull them up on...

What's the wierdist thing you have eaten when low?

I once had to scavenge blackberries off some bramble like some feral person! I have also eaten dextroxe tablets that I found in my pocket,... they'd been through the wash.

Do you make your own record charts?

I find that the booklet the nurse gives me has no where near enough space for information. My hubby is currently designing me a more detailed record sheet so I can record carbs, insulin dose, exercise etc and not simply just my readings. Do any of you design your own charts? What do they look...
