    Unusually high FBG

Thanks, Alzebra. it was 8.0 last night before supper, 10 before breakfast and now 7.1. Maybe it was just a long recovery period after Boxing day. I usually get back to normal within 2-3 days. Gave me a shock though!

Thanks. I'm cutting food and drink intake back as far as possible. Just hoping my pancreas hasn't given up completely!

    Unusually high FBG

OK, I admit I was naughty on Boxingday and scoffed a lot of mince pies, Christmas pud and brownies. But, since then, I've been very well-behaved and gone back to my usual diet of porridge for breakfast homemade soups for lunch, home cooked food in the evening. My HBA1C in October was 7.3. I...

    Really Stupid Quesstion about Exercise!

Interesting! I walk home 3 times a week from work (about 2.7miles) and it takes me about 45 minutes. I had thought about trying to walk faster so I could be home in 30-35 minutes or so but i hadn't appreciated that my blood glucose would change to that extent.

Ok, I wasn't planning to use it until Wednesday when my current pen reaches its 60 doses. But I'd be fine with using the new one from this evening Thanks

Forgot to put Byetta pen in the fridge

Ok, So I ordered my Byetta pen yesterday morning and picked it up at 5:00pm that evening. And then I forgot about it and left it on the table until this morning - about 14 hours later. The instructions make it clear that it should be kept in the fridge until it has been prepared. Should I...

    Using Byetta Injection Pens

It happens occasionally with my current and my previous pen. About once a week or so. When I see it, I do wonder if I had injected properly. But Byetta pens are so simple to operate, I think that's unlikely. I'll talk to my pharmacist. Thanks for your reply.

    Using Byetta Injection Pens

I've been taking Byetta for six months and it has really made a difference to my diabetes control. However, when I have injected myself, and I turn the pen knob clockwise to prepare it for the next dose, sometimes the liquid squirts out of the pen. Is that normal or could I be using a...

    shoulder and neck pain

Definitely sounds like a frozen shoulder. Doctors may be able to give you a cortizone injection to relieve the pain and discomfort. Otherwise, you would need an operation. best wishes

    NHS Couch to 5K

Yes, I used it to prepare for a 5K run last year. It was very good and got me well prepared for the actual run. I ran 5K in 32 minutes. So. I'd highly recommend it. The music is well suited to running and the coach gives you updates every now and again on how you are doing.

    Accu Chek Mobile, any good?

I've been using the AccuChek Mobile for a couple of months now and it is really easy to use and much better than having to dispose of needles and strips after every test. HOWEVER . . . . when I presented a prescription for new test cassettes to my local pharmacy, I was told that they are only...

    High bs

I've been on Metformin, Gliclazide and Sitagliptin for about eight years now. So Byetta is an additional medication rather than a replacement. My consultant wants to keep me off insulin for as long as possible

    High bs

Believe me, I wish I'd started Byetta a few months ago. I'm losing weight, my appetite is reduced, by BS is going down. Only had one day of vomiting on day two. I keep a seven day moving average on my morning and evening readings and it's gone down from 15.9 to 10.7 in the five weeks since I...
