Are there others like me? (Type 2 but feel like they shouldn't be)

Hi all, I am wondering if there are others like me - People who 'aren't supposed to have diabetes' - by that I mean under 40 (I was 25 at diagnosis), no known African or Black heritage and no family history of diabetes. The only factor I had was that I was overweight, but not drastically...

    Vegetarian hypo fixers?

Hi guys, What do you recommend as your sugary snack to fix a hypo? I've been using chewits and the newly vegan fruittella, but they're actually **** hard to chew when trying to fix yourself! Also, does it make much of a difference if you keep insulin in the fridge or not please? Thanks! R

Reversing T2 with diet shakes, info please

Okay, so breakfast might be 1/2 a can of tomato soup and 2 pieces of brown toast, or crackers (probably a little carby?), or veggie bacon and eggs. Sometimes 2 potato waffles on their own. I'm having trouble finding veggie bacon at the moment (even before the C Virus Crisis) Lunch is usually a...

Type 2 Why am I doing okay?

Hi Everyone, This may seem like a bit of a weird question, but maybe someone has experience of this... I want to know why I appear to be doing okay with my diabetes, despite continuing to eat what I want, when I want. I probably eat more 'wrong foods' now than I ever did before diabetes. For...

    Metformin Bum Trouble

Hi all, I'll get straight to the point; I've been on metformin the last 3 years and whenever I start to throw up, I cannot control my bowel (in short: butt explosions), and I wondered if I stopped taking this drug, would my bum return to its glorious, well behaved form? My friend (also on MF)...

Pulsatile Tinnitus and Diabetes - Have you had or got both?

Hi all! I'm trying to put together possible evidence of a connection between Pulsatile Tinnitus and Diabetes and would appreciate any responses I can get. For those of you that don't know, Pulsatile Tinnitus is where you have tinnitus in your ear (or ears) and it goes in time with your heart...

Should I be worried about my elevated blood sugars in the morning?

Hi Cara, I try to eat carbs with every meal (this is what i was told to do when i was a type 1 - does the same thing apply to type 2?) and I try to eat balanced meals. I mostly eat homemade veggie pizza which is made out of wholemeal pitta breads, not much cheese, lots of tomato and veggies...
