    Accuchek Solo Pump

I would really like basal IQ as I'm not avoiding hypos even with the libre. I've read some really good things about Control IQ too. Not sure when it will be available here...hopefully asap!

    Accuchek Solo Pump

Hope you're feeling better @Chas C! I really like the tslim. Have you got dexcom too? I've got the libre but it's not preventing me from stopping hypos and I seem to have lost hypo awareness which is rather worrying. Overall control is much better though so a big thumbs up from me so far :)

Download festival - advice wanted please!!!!!

A tattoo would be a bit too drastic for me....although I can see why people choose them. You sound well prepared and frio bags are excellent!!

Download festival - advice wanted please!!!!!

Compeed ones usually work well for me, especially under thick socks. I would only add to all the useful advice above that it might be a good idea to wear some sort of medical id just in case you get separated from your group and a hypo comes on suddenly (here's hoping for hot and sunny weather...

    Accuchek Solo Pump

Thanks @RLMorgan and @tim2000s for the info...... I held out as long as I could but gave up in the end as was really struggling with my control on MDI. I'm now on a tslim pump (started 3 weeks ago) and although things are still up and down, I know I made the right decision as my control has...

    Work

I'm trying to find a list of work-related adjustments for people with type 1 ie. how many hours between breaks, how often is acceptable to test blood sugars etc. Does anyone know where I might be able to find one? Apologies if there's already a similar thread. TIA

Keep getting told by people that I can get rid of Diabetes Type one

A few months ago, I nearly had a full blown argument with a nurse who smugly told me that a cure for type 1 had been discovered in Europe and that it was time the UK caught up and that soon everyone with type 1 would be cured...I tried to remonstrate with him but eventually gave up. He couldn't...

    Banning snacking on public transport....

Good to know...I read some rather dismissive comments about why on earth people might need to eat for a medical condition (!!!) Find it bad enough getting side eye from people on the tube when I scan libre or when pump alarms so fingers crossed we won't be expected to hold up a card, wear a...

I laughed when reading your post at first but then thought about how horrid that would be if it were to happen...

    Banning snacking on public transport....

I don't see how they would enforce it either. I'm an early years teacher and agree there's a huge problem with childhood obesity (the amount of children who get greeted at the end of every day with a family-size pack of sweets/chocolate/crisps is heartbreaking to see) but don't see how this...

    Banning snacking on public transport....

Hi everyone, Been reading about this in the news today and just wondered what other people's thoughts were about this... I've read a couple of comments saying that those with a medical condition should carry a form of ID on them to prove they need to eat something... I don't particularly like...

    Accuchek Solo Pump

Hi all, I've read everything I can find on the forum about this pump. Know it's currently being trialled across England and wondered if anyone has it or knows anyone trialling it? I'm really interested in it as was on the Insight before and this looks like it will be a relatively decent...

    Help with Levemir dosage pls!

Thanks for the advice @EllieM. I may end up having to take the 111/A&E route tomorrow, but surgery have said they would send a prescription through to chemist for Levemir by the end of today. I really hope they have some in stock... Doubt they'd give me degludec in A&E...I wish they could...

    Help with Levemir dosage pls!

Thanks for your reply @Juicyj. I rang and left them a voicemail yesterday and they're usually very good at responding. I've only got today's dose left...which is my fault.

    Help with Levemir dosage pls!

Hi all, I know I should really know this but am going through a very difficult time right now and could use some help... Currently on MDI as pump funding ran out earlier in year and due to personal reasons I'm staying on them for time being. Prescribed Degludec by hospital consultant as this...

Question about any pump / specifically omni pump

Hi @Coreylewis21, I used to have the Omnipod although I'm now on a tubed pump. My diabetes team persuaded me to try Omnipod as they thought it would help me and it really did!! I was terrified at the idea of a pump. I thought everyone would be able to see it and make comments etc. but...

Cannula irritation - prevention suggestions please.

Hi @Snapsy, Sorry you're having a tough time with your sites. I have always had Cavilon recommended to me by my DSNs. In desperation the other month I managed to buy a small tube of the cream for £7 from my local Boots (had to wait over 2weeks for a gp appt.) which did the trick with my libre...

    Libre sensor.....again!!!

Sorry for not replying sooner. Spoke to customer service rep who is sending a replacement. I asked if it was something I was doing wrong. He said he didn't think that was the case as the sensor had started giving readings before something went wrong and it was most likely something wrong with...
