Hi, i was just experimenting to guess what would be my BG if i start feeling hungry (not cravings) and if i wait for 30-60 minutes and i feel very hungry. I have noticed that when my BG is above 6.5, i don't feel the hunger at all. When my BGs are <6, i start feeling hungry (as if i could eat...
Has anyone else got this obsession as well? I have been diagnosed in last Dec and have managed my BG very well thanks to the meter. Last 2 a1c tests within normal range too. My fasting are close to 5 and postprandial peaks are average 7 and i am not doing much experiments with foods either. In...
Hi guys, i have a quick question about a phenomenon that i am unable to understand so would be very helpful if you guys can share your personal experience or any studies on this.
I am T2, was diagnosed with an a1c of 78 in Dec 2020 and managed to bring my a1c to close to 30. I am on a low-carb...
Evening all
Just joined and first time posting on here. I’m a fairly newly diagnosed T1 (within the last 2 years). I require a very low level of background and quick release insulin usually to keep my levels where they need to be.
Recently however, I’ve started a new fitness regime and try and...
Hi there!
25 year old from Australia here. I was diagnosed with type 1 a little over a month ago and have been feeling pretty good with everything and for the most part, I have felt on top of it. When I was admitted to hospital with what I thought was food poisoning, I had a blood glucose of 24...
Hiya!
I was diagnosed a year ago (Jan 2017, happy anniversary to me) with Type 1. I'm 26...
So I've always been really active, however in the past year due to diabetes related complications, I had to cut down on the exercise.
I've started getting back into training again (both running and...
Hi!
I did 2 hard(ish) runs today and my BG keeps crashing down even though I havent taken any Novorapid today. I keep spooning jam in to my mouth but it raises BG levels just slightly.. I have counted that I have taken about 350 Carbs in the last 4 hours and still my meters shows values around...
Hi all,
Since starting on the Libre, I have noticed that my BG spikes pretty steeply JUST after I go to sleep (any time between 23:00 and 01:00 - I'm a nightowl!) and was wondering if anyone else had found this?
I've posted a picture below to illustrate, but these are only a few examples...
Hi,
I seem to have picked up a cold and I wondered if it is normal to suffer low levels while you have a cold?
What is the best course of action for this if it is normal.
I have only been diagnosed as type 1 for just over a month now so I am still learning and experiencing new problems as I go...
Hi there,
I was diagnosed with Type 1 on Monday this week, great shock and completely unexpected as i'm 39 only 11 stone and work full time so am active all day.
I am currently on tablets to try and bring my levels down until my appointment tomorrow where I will find out my other test results...
I am T2 and my normal is between 4.5 and 6.2. Anything above or below this I feel really unwell with headaches, stomach upset and blurry vision. I'm wondering if it it unusual to have such a small normal BGL range. It makes management really difficult because a small error in my food can cost me...
I am a recently diagnosed type 2, and have been reading as much as possible about how to eat and what to do. I have seen Daisy's posts for the newly diagnosed, where the NICE recommendations are included. However, I am well below the recommendation for diabetics right now (I was diagnosed based...
I used to drink black instant coffee (1-2 cups/day) before I had symptoms. Now I only drink water. But when I researched online, I found there are contradicting reports/studies as regards whether coffee is good or bad for diabetes.
As of now, there doesn't seem to be a definitive conclusion...
Hi all.
Have just tried to use the site conversion to find out my HbA1c, using the average for the app for my meter, which came out as 8.3 mmol/l and tells me I am in hyper range, as per attached image.
Anyone any idea about what is going on?
Thanks.
