    Raised HbA1c, Glicazide

I have been diagnosed with T2 for 3 years and my HbA1c has always been mid 40’s on Metformin. At my last review my HbA1c has shot up to 76, no major changes in diet or lifestyle to account for this. Practice nurse has recommended adding Glicazide to my medications and has given me a glucometer...

Blood sugar increasing without eating anything

Hi, Every now and then my blood sugar seems to spike for no reason that I can think of. For example this afternoon four hours after lunch it shot up to over 11mmol. Any ideas as to what's causing this? Thank you!

Type 1 (Hypo unawareness?) At what levels should you start feeling hypos?

What sort of levels is it normal to start feeling Hypo symptoms? I'm 22 and was diagnosed a type 1 in mid-February (about a month and a half ago). Initially I found I would have to go down to the low 3's to feel any of the symptoms, but I just randomly tested and it was 2.7 and I didn't feel...

Is this normal or could there be an error in glucometer. I took no medications or did anything physical in that period of time. I...

    high blood sugar and diet

Hi all I have recently decided to take the plunge and modify my diet rather than rely on the medication that was prescribed as it was making me ill and depressed. I'm following a low to no carb diet and after my first week I've had a 4lb loss which is great. But I have not seen a drop in my...

Daily Testing of Blood Glucose Levels

Some while ago my local Medical Practice issued me with a Bayer test kit. This was issued at the same time that I was put on tablets to help control my blood glucose. I take two blood samples each day, - one in the morning and one in the late afternoon. This provides me with an average value. I...
