My own experience is, after having done a no eating, and no drinking calorific drinks after sunset, 5 days a week - for quite a long time now, is that it is very good for weight loss maintenance. Sadly, keeping fat off of my waist (where it loves to be stored I take it) does not equate to good blood glucose readings. I wish it did, but no.
Yeah - the nothing other than herb teas and sparkly water after sunset thing (5 days - I need a weekend for social eating and drinking), cuts down on the snacks, and absolutely - alcoholic beverages - both which are high energy food and drink (low carb is a given). So keeping body-fat storage in check, it does for me, for sure.
And again - I could not maintain it for as long as I have, and it's been a while, if I didn't have Friday and Saturday/2 social nights, off.
