Hi malc I am the same just been diagnosed type 2 and big diet changes. But still readings all over the place but fingers crossed they are coming down. I would say it was the suet. I bought cards and cars book it is really good. Have a look. AnneI had one of these:
(Google Tesco Steak and Kidney Pudding)
along with 4 x new potatoes + a few tinned peas/carrots + fresh spinach + 2 x slices of wholemeal bread + a glass of red wine, at home last night and 2+ hours later my bg reading was 12.2
My fasting test this morning was back down to 6.6
So, I'm puzzled about my occasional higher readings...Could it have been the suet? :?
Malc.

Highly unlikely to be a fat causing elevated glucose levels - carbohydrates are broken down into simple sugars and end up in the bloodstream and in storage around the waistline of a typical type 2.Hi malc I am the same just been diagnosed type 2 and big diet changes.
